The Billionaire Ex-Wife and the Beggar He Became novel Chapter 320

As he spoke, tears streamed down his withered cheeks. He was too weak to say much more. All the words he wanted to say were condensed into those two simple words: "I'm sorry."

Winona didn't turn back. "I'm sorry, Mr. Frank, but I don't accept."

She walked out of the intensive care unit without a second glance.

Frank's eyes followed her until she was out of sight, his expression a complex mix of emotions. Seeing his apologetic look, Felicity felt a strange unease.

Xander had already clearly sided with Winona.

Julian, though divorced from Winona, had become distant from her and seemed to feel more guilt towards his ex-wife.

And now, even Mr. Frank was apologizing to Winona.

The usually confident and radiant Felicity felt as if she were under siege from all sides.

She gripped Frank's hand, her expression sincere and humble. "Uncle, I know it was wrong of me to lie to you about being married to Julian, but we've been in love for so many years. Julian doesn't love Winona; they never even had a wedding. In his heart, I'm his true wife. We love each other very much."

Frank sputtered, "You… you…"

"I only told you we were married because I didn't want you to worry about me. I know I've wronged Winona, and I will admit my mistake to her. But first, you need to focus on getting better. When you're well, when your heart is strong again, I promise I will apologize to Winona in front of you. Okay?"

"And I have some good news for you…"

She leaned in and whispered in Frank's ear, her words meant for him alone.

A flicker of light returned to Frank's eyes. "Really…?"

Felicity nodded. "Really. But I haven't told Julian yet. Uncle, please, just cooperate with the doctors for now, alright? When you're better, Julian and I will apologize to Winona together. Okay?"

"The fact that your sister was the other woman who stole my husband is indisputable. If you have a problem with that, take it up with a judge. You have nothing to say to me."

With that, Winona pressed the elevator button and prepared to step inside.

But Jason grabbed her arm with his left hand. He raised his right hand to slap her. "You should have been dead a long time ago! Did you think the Shepherd family was gone? Well, I'm back now, so you can just go die…"

Before his words finished, before his hand could connect with her face, another hand shot out from behind, catching his wrist in a vice-like grip. He was then forcefully thrown aside.

Jason stumbled, nearly falling to the ground.

When he regained his balance, he saw that Winona was now protectively held in the arms of another man.

Yves Prescott's eyes blazed with a cold, murderous intent as he looked at Jason. "Jason, is it? The next time you dare to lay a finger on Winona, I'll have you rotting in the street."
