"Are you feeling any better?" Julian asked.
"Much better, Julian. I was just worried about you," Felicity replied.
"Just focus on getting well."
"Julian, there's something I need to tell you," she said.
"Go on."
"Can it be tomorrow? Can you come to my house tomorrow morning? It's something very, very important. You have to clear your schedule, don't even go to the office. Just come straight here. Please?" Her voice had a pleading, almost coquettish tone.
Julian felt a flicker of impatience but suppressed it. "Alright," he said calmly.
"Okay, then. Goodbye, Julian."
"Goodbye."
"Daddy, was that Miss Felly?" Tiana asked.
"Yes."
Tiana said nothing more.
"Do you… not like Miss Felly anymore?" Julian asked her.
Tiana shook her head. "Mommy told me that you and Miss Felly will be together now. She said I should like Miss Felly just like I used to, so our family of three can be happy. I'll listen to Mommy and keep liking her. Daddy, you should go see Miss Felly tomorrow. Maybe she has a surprise for you."
The five-year-old just wanted her father to be happy. She had noticed that ever since her mommy left, her daddy was often sad, too. Since he liked Miss Felly, maybe being with her would cheer him up.
