Even though Paola had wronged Alana throughout their lives, she was still the closest person to Alana in the world. With the prospect of moving to Finland looming, and despite August's promise to return soon, Alana felt she needed to see her sister one last time.
August, ever the protective partner, insisted on going with her.
Two identical women, both strikingly beautiful, now stood on opposite sides of iron bars. Their drastically different fates were enough to tug at anyone's heartstrings.
With a clear mind, Alana looked at her sister behind bars and said, "Despite everything you've done, and how much I hated you for it, you've faced your punishment. I hope you use this time to turn things around and get out soon."
"Thanks, dear sister," Paola replied with a sly grin. "You take care of yourself out there. Don't let anyone fool you. My life's pretty much over; I'm likely stuck here for good. It's all on you now."
Before Alana could offer a word of comfort, Paola turned to August and said, "And you, don't forget to take care of our son, Eason."
Her words left both Alana and August speechless.
August was stunned that Paola would say something so disruptive.
Alana was even more shocked, her eyes filled with disbelief and despair as she turned to August. "Is... is that true?"
August's brow furrowed with concern.
"Big sis, didn't you know? You and August have a daughter, and I have a son with him, named Eason—a son to carry on the family name. August and I lived together for several years. Maybe he just has a thing for our type, first you, then me." Paola stood up and walked back into the depths of the prison, her laughter echoing behind her.
She couldn't be happy inside, so she wasn't going to let anyone on the outside be happy either.
"Is it true?" Alana asked, reeling from the blow, gripping August's sleeve.
