Caitlin had become the talk of the town after making a name for herself at the family reunion banquet.
Everyone in the city’s high society circles knew that Miss Freya from the Gonzales family was a chess prodigy. And since every chess enthusiast idolized the mysterious “C,” and Caitlin’s previous Twitter handle was simply the letter C, it didn’t take a genius to figure out who her idol was.
That’s why Tammie had made his offer so confidently.
The truth was, Tammie actually didn’t know C at all. They weren’t friends. In fact, they’d never even met. But as a famous graphic novelist, Tammie’s reputation alone made it easy to introduce Caitlin to almost anyone.
Right now, though, the priority was to get Caitlin to apologize to Ann and persuade Ann to return to the Gonzales estate. Everything else was secondary. After all, Caitlin’s talents were mediocre at best—meeting C would already be an unimaginable honor for her.
After making his grand offer, Tammie fixed his gaze on Caitlin, waiting for her to light up with excitement.
After all… It was C! If it weren’t for his connections, Caitlin would probably never get within arm’s reach of someone like C.
But Caitlin’s reaction wasn’t at all what Tammie expected.
She was calm—almost unnaturally so. Her voice was cool and even when she spoke. “Tammie, are you going to leave on your own, or should I ask someone to show you out?”
Tammie’s eyes widened. He hadn’t expected Caitlin to turn down such an incredible opportunity.
He started to get annoyed. “Freya! If you let this chance slip by, you might never meet C in your entire life. Are you sure you don’t want to reconsider?”
Caitlin gave a small, amused smile. “Sorry, but even without your help, I can see C every day if I want.”
See C every day? What nonsense was she talking about? Did she think C was just some random person she could run into at the café?
Even Tammie himself—despite all his fame—would need to schedule an appointment to meet C. And Caitlin? Who did she think she was? She was really overestimating herself.
Tammie had never met anyone as clueless as Caitlin. With the Gonzales family’s prestigious lineage, how had they ended up with someone like her? She was barely out of her teens and already divorced, and now she was acting so disgracefully. It was a stain on the family name.
“Are you sure you won’t regret this?” Tammie pressed, staring at Caitlin.
She glanced at him, her eyes cool. “Are you sure you’re really friends with C?”
Tammie didn’t flinch. “Of course I am!”
Someone like Caitlin could never hope to reach his level. She was only trying to drag Ann down with her, so he wasn’t the least bit worried about Caitlin uncovering his lie.
He squinted at the payment account.
Sylvester Group?
Realizing what this meant, the shop owner grabbed his phone and dialed immediately.
“Raven.”
“What’s up, May?” Raven’s voice came through on the other end.
May could barely contain her excitement. “Raven, is there something going on between you and Master Ninth?”
Everyone in high society knew Raven had been chasing after Gordon for years. Most people had written her off, thinking Gordon would never return her feelings. But now, a massive rose order from Sylvester Group? That changed everything.
Raven hesitated. “Why are you asking me that?”
May quickly explained the whole story about the flower shop order.

So happy for Carey, the reunion with her family is touching. Can we read more of Caitlin and Gordon? Readers are forgetting that Caitlin has a boyfriend by the way. Is it normal for their relationship to be erased in the storyline?...
Update please......
But where is Gordon?...
Great story, great author!...
