THE DIVORCE GAMBIT From Dumped Wife to CEO's Forever novel Chapter 510

The scene startled Jeanette. "Katrina, where are you going?"

Katrina’s face was pale as a sheet. “I’m going to find Xavier! I want to die right in front of him!”

She refused to believe Xavier would just stand by and watch her die.

The nurse was just as shaken, quickly reaching out to stop Katrina. "You’re in no condition to leave. You can’t just check yourself out right now!"

“I don’t need a nurse like you telling me what to do.” Katrina shoved the nurse’s hand away.

Her health hadn't improved, but Katrina was determined to leave. The hospital couldn’t legally hold her—she was an adult, after all, and they couldn’t restrict her freedom.

Jeanette trailed after her to the hospital entrance, hesitating before speaking. “Katrina, I’m… I’m not going with you to the Richards estate. You’re on your own.”

Jeanette was no fool. With the Prescott family’s downfall, even Katrina’s bank cards had been frozen. If she followed Katrina to the Richards estate now, it would be nothing short of humiliating.

Katrina scoffed. “Suit yourself! But let me tell you this, Jeanette—if you don’t come with me to the Richards estate now, don’t expect me to introduce you to any of Xavier’s brothers in the future!”

Jeanette was speechless.

How could Katrina still be so blind to her situation?

“Katrina, I really think you’re making a mistake. The Richards estate is the last place you should be right now. You’re frail—you should just buy a ticket and fly back to Silverhaven while you still can.”

Katrina snorted. “Just don’t come begging me later, that’s all!”

With that, Katrina hailed a cab and made her way straight to the Richards family mansion.

But without an invitation, there was no way past the gates. She could only stand across the street, watching and waiting for her chance.

Xavier turned, glancing back when he heard her voice.

Katrina, tears streaming down her cheeks, cried out, “Xavier, I need you. I need you more than ever. No matter what, I saved your life—I’m your savior! My life is hanging by a thread. Are you really going to stand there and watch me die?”

As she spoke, Katrina lunged toward him, desperate.

She was certain Xavier would soften, would catch her in his arms, kneel at her feet, and beg for forgiveness.

But just as Katrina flung herself forward, two security guards trailing Xavier stepped in. They blocked her instantly, each grabbing an arm.

Katrina struggled furiously. “Let go of me! Do you even know who I am? Xavier, tell them to let me go!”

Xavier didn’t so much as spare her another glance. His voice was cold as ice. “Kevin, get this crazy woman out of here. I don’t care where she came from.”
