THE DIVORCE GAMBIT From Dumped Wife to CEO's Forever novel Chapter 595

Caitlin was not a selfish person.

If epilepsy were easily curable, she would have already mass-produced a drug to free every patient from their suffering.

She had refused to meet with Smith because she knew his character.

She would not associate with a thief.

Caitlin's words were delivered casually, but they landed on Griffin like a physical blow, leaving him breathless.

Paralysis at best.

Death at worst.

"Are… are you telling the truth?" Griffin looked at Caitlin, his eyes filled with doubt.

Caitlin nodded. "I never lie. But whether you believe me or not is up to you."

With that, she turned to Celia. "Let's go."

"Okay." Celia took Caitlin's arm.

As she watched them walk away, Jennifer's eyes burned with hatred.

Why?

Why was she left here in disgrace, abandoned by Celia, while Caitlin could walk away unscathed, still Celia's cherished friend?

No!

Caitlin had to die.

She had to die!

Only then would she find peace.

The hatred in Jennifer's eyes morphed into a cold, deadly resolve.

Her hand moved to her waist, where she kept her weapon.

A slender, razor-sharp stiletto.

Lethal. Capable of ending a life with a single thrust.

As Celia's personal bodyguard, Jennifer's combat skills were formidable.

She moved like lightning.

In an instant, she was behind Caitlin, the stiletto aimed at the back of her neck.

Just as the blade was about to strike…

Caitlin spun around, her leg lashing out in a high kick.

*CLANG!*

The stiletto was knocked from Jennifer's hand, skittering across the floor.

Stunned by Caitlin's speed, Jennifer immediately threw a punch.

But Caitlin was just as skilled, if not more so.

She dodged and countered with fluid, precise movements.

It was a clash of experts, every move designed to be lethal.

After landing several quick strikes, Caitlin executed a clean shoulder throw, sending Jennifer crashing to the ground.

*CRACK.*

The sickening sound of a bone breaking filled the air.

Jennifer's crime had escalated from theft to attempted murder. The police were called and arrived quickly.

Griffin raised his hands. "Officer, I'm a witness. I can testify that Jennifer attempted to commit murder."

The door to the room had been open, and there were security cameras in the hallway.

With Griffin and Celia as witnesses, Jennifer was taken into custody on the spot.

After leaving the station, Celia turned to Caitlin, her face full of guilt. "Freya, I'm so sorry. If it weren't for me, you could have lost your life today."

Caitlin smiled gently. "It's not your fault, Celia. Don't blame yourself. And besides, I'm not so easy to take down. Even if there were two of her, they wouldn't stand a chance."

Celia linked her arm through Caitlin's, her eyes shining with admiration. "Freya, do you think I could learn Eldermere martial arts?"

She had seen martial arts in movies before but had always assumed it was just for show.

But now she knew.

Art really did imitate life.

"Of course," Caitlin nodded. "But it's not easy. Are you prepared for the hard work?"

"Yes! Absolutely."

Celia was serious. She truly wanted to learn.

She wanted to be as capable and confident as Caitlin.

"Alright," Caitlin said. "I'll introduce you to a teacher. You can start with the basics."

"That would be amazing!"

Caitlin had other matters to attend to that afternoon. After dropping Celia off at the hotel, she headed to the laboratories at Gonzales Holdings.
