THE DIVORCE GAMBIT From Dumped Wife to CEO's Forever novel Chapter 641

Tammie's trust in Ann was absolute, built on a lifetime of shared memories. She was his cousin, the closest family he had left. In his mind, no amount of money could ever rival their bond.

Benedict sighed in frustration. "Tammie, wake up. Human nature is fragile, and loyalty rarely stands up to that kind of temptation," he warned. As a pragmatist, Benedict knew exactly what was at stake. "When it comes to that much money, every relationship has its price."

"You'd understand if you met her, Benedict. She's not that kind of person," Tammie insisted, brushing off the warning. "Besides, she's absolutely stunning. You'd be blown away if you saw her."

Normally, talk of a beautiful woman would have captured Benedict's full attention. But right now, all he could think about was the design. "I don't care how much you trust her, Tammie. You have to protect this draft. You know what will happen if it leaks." Benedict, usually laid-back, was dead serious.

Tammie waved him off with a dismissive, "I know, I know." Benedict was just being paranoid, projecting his own cynicism onto Ann. She would never do something like that. They had no need for secrets or suspicion between them.

"Alright, go have your lunch," Benedict conceded. "I won't keep you." But just before hanging up, he added one last time, "Seriously, protect that draft."
