THE DIVORCE GAMBIT From Dumped Wife to CEO's Forever novel Chapter 649

"You're right," Tammie agreed.

Ann's eyes glinted. "Have you been very busy lately, Tammie?"

"A bit," he admitted, finishing the cheese cake. "But the design will be finalized soon. Once it is, I'll take you on a nice trip abroad to relax."

*Finalized.* Ann seized on the word. "How much longer until it's done?"

Tammie thought for a moment. "At least another five or six days."

"That long?" Ann asked, feigning surprise. "You're so talented, I thought a single design would be quick work for you."

He shook his head. "This one is different. It's for the big competition. Benedict and I have poured everything we have into it." This design wasn't just an entry; it was the key to their company's future. But he was confident. Once unveiled, their creation would stun the world.

"You're so amazing, Tammie," Ann gushed. "I just know you're going to win first place."

"From your lips to God's ears," he laughed. Then, he remembered something. "By the way, did Benedict add you on WhatsApp?"

"I think so," she said vaguely, having no intention of accepting. A man with his background was beneath her. "I haven't had a chance to check my phone."

"What did you expect?" Tammie shot back, irritated. "She brought me some fruits and cake and we chatted. That's it." Benedict's tone made it sound like Ann was some kind of corporate spy.

"She didn't ask about anything else?" Benedict's wariness was palpable.

"No," Tammie snapped, his patience wearing thin. "Why can't you trust her? I thought you were my best friend."

Benedict sighed. "Tammie, you know that's not what I mean. I'm just worried about all our hard work going down the drain. We've come too far to let our guard down now."

"Relax," Tammie said, opening the shared design software. "Ann is not a spy. I could leave the design plans right in front of her, and she wouldn't give them a second glance."
