THE DIVORCE GAMBIT From Dumped Wife to CEO's Forever novel Chapter 667

Theodore and Frederick Richards had flown back from overseas as soon as they heard Stuart was awake, arriving just the night before. The butler chattered on as they walked, and Stuart listened intently.

Soon, they reached the main hall of the Richards family home.

Inside, Warren, Willis, Lyle, Theodore, and Hannah were all present, though the wives were absent. The eldest two Richards brothers, Warren and Lyle, had always managed the family's affairs in Neon Spire, while the others had businesses abroad.

They seemed to be in the middle of a tense conversation. Hannah's expression was stern, and her sons all had their heads bowed like chastised schoolboys.

"Dowager, gentlemen, look who's here."

At the butler's announcement, everyone in the hall turned around.

"Freya!"

Hannah's stern face instantly broke into a wide smile at the sight of Caitlin. She hurried over. "Freya! You're here!"

The Richards brothers breathed a collective sigh of relief. Their savior had arrived.

"Grandma," Caitlin said, embracing Hannah warmly.

Watching the two of them, Stuart felt a smile touch his lips. It was like seeing a scene from twenty years ago, when his wife would be reunited with her mother after a long trip. If only… if only Carey were still here.

The thought brought a lump to his throat. "Mom," he said, his voice thick with emotion.

Hannah, whose attention had been solely on Caitlin, finally noticed him. She grabbed his hand, her voice trembling with disbelief. "Stuart, you're… you're really okay?"

He had been bedridden for over twenty years. Even though she had been prepared, seeing him standing before her, alive and well, was overwhelming.

The other brothers chimed in with their own words of encouragement, urging him to stay strong.

Back in The Capital, Tammie and Benedict were being run ragged. They were juggling the online public relations nightmare while being constantly summoned to the police station for questioning.

That morning, Tammie was called in yet again. Benedict parked the car outside and waited.

Two hours later, Tammie emerged from the station. Benedict opened the car door and was about to wave him over when a group of people suddenly rushed past him and surrounded Tammie.

One of them, a young man, was dressed entirely in white, from his clothes to the mourning cap on his head. He was even wearing white shoes. In his arms, he clutched a black-and-white funeral portrait. The others, though not in full mourning attire, were all dressed in black with black armbands, their faces grim.

"Murderer! You give me back my mother!"
