Why was she putting on such airs? Just wait. She would regret this sooner or later!
Keira glared at the butler. "Butler! Are you deaf? Throw her out now!"
The butler no longer hesitated and signaled to the security guards behind him. Two guards immediately flanked Maura, grabbing her by the arms and dragging her out without giving her a chance to resist.
Maura was unceremoniously thrown outside the gates of Gonzales Manor, a pathetic sight. It took her a long moment to get up from the ground, her face dark with fury. She couldn't believe Keira would treat her this way!
"You really think that granddaughter of yours is such a prize? Just wait! The day will come when you'll come crawling to me! Bah!"
Inside, Stuart and Carey, having heard about the incident in the front hall, rushed over.
"Mom, what happened?" Stuart asked with concern. "I heard you had a fight with Mrs. Somerset?"
Carey added soothingly, "Mom, you should talk things out. Why resort to force? I heard you had Mrs. Somerset thrown out?"
Old Mrs. Somerset was, after all, a person of some standing in The Capital. To be thrown out like that was not only undignified but also damaging to their relationship.
"Yes, you should talk things out," Stuart agreed. "No matter what, the bond between the Gonzales and Somerset families runs deep. You shouldn't have embarrassed Mrs. Somerset like that."
Keira's heart ached with anger. "Do you two have any idea what that shameless old hag said to me just now? Having her thrown out was letting her off easy! If it weren't for your father's memory, I would have taken a knife to her!"
Keira wasn't just venting. At that moment, she had genuinely wanted to attack Maura.
Stuart chuckled. "Mom, we live in a civilized society. You can't go around attacking people with knives!"
"If you had been in my shoes, you would have wanted to do the same!" Keira retorted, glaring at Stuart.
Carey rushed to grab Stuart's sleeve. "What for?"
"To go to the Somerset's and cut someone!"
"Stuart! Stuart, calm down!"
"I can't calm down," Stuart said, his voice seething with anger. "Did you see the look on that old witch Somerset's face? I respected her as an elder, but what do they take our Freya for?"
This was intolerable.
Keira looked at Stuart. "Didn't you just say you believe in reasoning with people?"

So happy for Carey, the reunion with her family is touching. Can we read more of Caitlin and Gordon? Readers are forgetting that Caitlin has a boyfriend by the way. Is it normal for their relationship to be erased in the storyline?...
Update please......
But where is Gordon?...
Great story, great author!...
