The world spun around Old Mrs. Somerset. She felt dizzy, on the verge of collapsing. Just an hour ago, her grandson had been alive and vibrant, laughing and talking with her. Now, he was a cold, lifeless body. It was unacceptable. She couldn't accept it.

"No! No!" she shrieked, tears streaming down her face. "You're wrong! My grandson is alive! He has to be alive!"

The lead paramedic sighed wearily and turned to Flossie. "I understand how difficult this is for your family, but we truly did everything possible. If you don't want to bury your own children, you have a responsibility as parents to watch them properly." How could they have let a child fall into the water right under their noses? Besides, during the rescue attempt, he'd heard the murmurs from the crowd.
