After hanging up, Caitlin went downstairs and told her parents and Keira what was happening.
When Stuart heard that Fortune was missing and hadn't been home all night, he grew anxious. "This is serious, Freya. I'm going with you!"
Knowing Fortune, he wasn't the type to stay out all night without answering his phone.
Since Stuart considered the old man a father figure, he had to fulfill his responsibilities as a son.
Now that Fortune was in trouble, he couldn't just stay behind in The Capital.
"I'm going too!" Carey chimed in.
Keira nodded. "Yes, yes, the three of you should all go. I'll take care of things at the company. Don't worry about a thing!"
"Okay, then we'll all go," Caitlin said, checking her watch. "But the next flight is fully booked. You'll have to buy tickets for the one after that."
Private flight paths required advance clearance, so at this moment, taking a commercial flight was faster than flying private.
Stuart immediately took out his phone to check for flights. "It's fine. The next flight is in three hours. We'll head to the airport first. If there's a last-minute cancellation, we'll go together. If not, we'll take the later flight."
The family rushed to the airport.
Caitlin's timing was perfect. Since she had no luggage to check, she made it through security half an hour before boarding and got on her flight smoothly.
But Stuart and Carey didn't get lucky with any cancellations, so they had to wait for the next flight.
Silverhaven.
As soon as Gordon got off the phone with Caitlin, he got his people looking for Fortune.
He sent teams to Fortune's friends' houses, the small park he frequented, and the little cafe he loved.
Meanwhile, Gordon drove to Willow Manor himself.
As soon as he got out of the car, he began ringing the doorbell frantically. "Mr. Kensington! Mr. Kensington, are you home?"
When there was no response, Gordon entered the password Caitlin had sent him.
Click.
The door swung open.
Although Caitlin had already checked the surveillance footage and confirmed Fortune wasn't home, she worried he might have collapsed from a sudden illness in one of the rooms. The cameras only covered the main gate and the living room, not the bedrooms.
Just then, Gordon's phone buzzed with a text message. He took out his phone, and his expression changed. He immediately grabbed Caitlin's hand. "Catie, let's go! I've got a lead on Mr. Kensington!"
"Really?" Caitlin's face lit up. "Where is he?"
"Yes! Let's hurry!" Gordon pulled Caitlin toward the car.
Once they were inside, Gordon's expression turned grim. "It's very likely Mr. Kensington has been taken captive."
Caitlin's face fell.
Meanwhile, Fortune had been tied up for over a dozen hours.
He was weak and pale.
He hadn't had a drop of water since last night. As a man in his sixties, his body couldn't withstand such an ordeal.
Bang!
The door was shoved open from the outside.

Can you please publish another novel - sorry for your loss, its me am the loss...
So happy for Carey, the reunion with her family is touching. Can we read more of Caitlin and Gordon? Readers are forgetting that Caitlin has a boyfriend by the way. Is it normal for their relationship to be erased in the storyline?...
Update please......
But where is Gordon?...
Great story, great author!...
