THE DIVORCE GAMBIT From Dumped Wife to CEO's Forever novel Chapter 951

Caitlin and Fortune were sitting at the table in the courtyard, having some tea.

Even though it was summer, a large, leafy maple tree cast a cool shade over them, blocking out the harsh sun and ushering in a gentle breeze. The two of them, grandfather and grandson, sat beneath the tree, creating a picturesque scene.

Caitlin handed a small pastry to Fortune. "Grandpa, try this. It pairs wonderfully with the black tea."

Fortune took the pastry and had a bite.

While it was a bit sweet, the black tea cut through the richness perfectly. The combination was surprisingly delightful.

As he sipped his tea, Fortune pulled out his phone. "I haven't talked to Keeley in ages. I wonder how he's been doing!"

With that, he opened Keeley Prescott's WhatsApp and initiated a video call.

Keeley answered almost immediately, his face beaming. "Fortune! How have you been? Have you eaten?"

"Couldn't be better, and yes, I've eaten. Catie and I came to The Capital yesterday. We're planning to settle down here. If you ever come to The Capital for a visit, you have to let me know! I know this city like the back of my hand. I'll give you the grand tour."

Fortune then added, "Keeley, how are things back home?"

Aside from the occasional video chat, it had been over a year since Fortune and Keeley had seen each other.

On the other end of the screen, Keeley chuckled. "Great, couldn't be better! My nephews are very good to me."

Fortune hesitated for a moment.

Caitlin leaned into the frame. "Keeley, that's a wonderful idea! I wouldn't feel comfortable with my grandpa traveling alone. Where are you thinking of going? And when? I can look for a suitable tour group for you."

For seniors, traveling with a group was often the better option. It was more lively, and safer.

Besides, seniors could often handle the grind of tour schedules—up early, to bed late—better than the younger crowd.

"It's been a while, Catie! You've gotten even more beautiful," Keeley showered Caitlin with compliments before answering. "Catie, I've lived this long and I've never seen the ocean. So I'd love to go see the sea! As for the time, how about the day after tomorrow, or the day after that?"
