THE DIVORCE GAMBIT From Dumped Wife to CEO's Forever novel Chapter 952

Keeley had only ever seen the ocean on television.

He had always harbored a simple wish: to find out if seawater was really as salty as everyone claimed.

"Alright," Caitlin nodded slightly. "Keeley, leave it to me. I'll handle everything."

"Okay, thank you so much, Catie!"

"You're too kind, Keeley," Caitlin replied. "Here's the plan: I'll book a tour for the 16th. Then, I'll get you a plane ticket to The Capital for tomorrow. My grandpa can show you around the city for a few days before we go."

Fortune immediately nodded in agreement. "Yes, yes! Catie's right, Keeley. Come to The Capital tomorrow. We can see some of the famous monuments, and then we'll travel together."

Keeley thought Caitlin's suggestion was excellent. He had never been to The Capital, so he readily agreed.

Caitlin was a woman of action. As soon as the call ended, she booked a flight for Keeley, arriving at four in the afternoon the next day. She already had his information saved from when she had bought him a ticket from Silverhaven back to his hometown.

After booking the flight, a thought occurred to Caitlin. She turned to Fortune. "Grandpa, did Keeley just say that after his trip, he plans to hand over the rest of his buyout money to his nephews for safekeeping?"

"I believe that's what he said," Fortune replied, curious. "Catie, why do you ask?"

Caitlin continued, "Grandpa, you can't ever be sure what someone's thinking. It's a different world now—money can turn even a father against his son, not to mention a nephew. Keeley learned his lesson the hard way before. Give him that little reminder when you talk tomorrow. He could set up a will to specify how the money should be divided after he's gone. Giving it all to his nephews now is just too risky. After all, human nature is the one thing you can't afford to test."

Fortune laughed. "You too! You look much younger than before."

Keeley puffed out his chest with pride. "That's because my nephews take such good care of me."

Caitlin took Keeley's suitcase. "Keeley, I've already booked a hotel for you near the main attractions. My grandpa said he wants to stay with you. I'll take you both there first to drop off your things, and then we can go get some dinner."

"Wonderful, wonderful!" Keeley boisterously pulled several thick stacks of cash from his bag and pressed them into Caitlin's hands. "Catie, this is for your trouble! Don't you dare say no. I know you have money, but I'm not short on it now either. If you don't take this, I'm not staying in any hotel you booked."

Keeley had never forgotten Caitlin's kindness. When he decided to move back to his hometown, his old house hadn't been bought out yet, and his finances were limited. It was Caitlin who had bought his plane ticket and loaded him up with local delicacies and gifts. Not only that, she had tucked a couple thousand dollars in cash among the gifts.
