Seeing that Gordon still wasn't replying, Skyler was completely baffled.
What on earth was his uncle up to?
At ten-thirty, Caitlin arrived at the apartment with Monday, right on time.
She let herself in with practiced ease.
Gordon was already in the kitchen, stir-frying.
Monday immediately dashed into the kitchen and showered Gordon with licks before trotting off to steal Snow's cat food.
Soon, a full-blown cat-dog war erupted from the cat's room, filled with feline hisses and canine whimpers.
Caitlin, a lollipop stick hanging from her lips, leaned lazily against the kitchen doorframe. "Chef Gordon is working hard today."
"At your service, boss," Gordon said, flipping the contents of the wok before glancing at Caitlin. His voice was low. "It's my honor."
"Such dedication. You deserve a reward." Caitlin plucked the half-eaten lollipop from her mouth and stuck it into Gordon's.
Gordon accepted the offering. "Thank you, boss. I'll continue to strive for excellence."
Caitlin had a serious sweet tooth. For her to give up a half-finished lollipop was no small matter.
It was a clear sign of just how satisfied she was with him.
The sugary taste spreading through his mouth filled Gordon with a sudden surge of energy. He decided then and there that he would stay up late tonight and learn ten new recipes.
Caitlin rolled up her sleeves. "Let me help you."
She felt a little guilty just showing up and enjoying the fruits of his labor every time.
"No need," Gordon said, putting down his spatula and gently pushing Caitlin out of the kitchen. "Boss, the biggest help you can be is to sit on the couch and watch TV. If you're bored, you can use the computer in the study."
Caitlin had no choice but to retreat from the kitchen. She wandered into the study, intending to play a game.
The computer was on, only needing a password to unlock. Gordon was completely open with her, so she knew all of his passwords.
After about half an hour of gaming, she heard Gordon's voice from the living room. "Boss, lunch is ready."
"Coming!" Caitlin exited the game and went to the dining room.
"This is amazing too!"
After they finished eating, Gordon said, "By the way, boss, I have a rather important meeting tomorrow, but I have no idea what to wear. Could you help me pick out a suitable outfit?"
"Sure," Caitlin nodded slightly and followed Gordon into the walk-in closet.
Gordon's closet was huge, filled with clothes of all styles.
Caitlin pointed to a white shirt. "Wear a white shirt with black trousers. For an important occasion, you can't go wrong with that combination."
"A white shirt?" Gordon immediately shook his head. "No, that won't work."
"Why not?" Caitlin asked, curious.
Gordon explained, "Skyler will be there tomorrow. If I show up in a white shirt, he'll definitely make fun of me."
Caitlin looked puzzled. "What's so funny about wearing a white shirt?"
Gordon didn't explain further. Instead, he took out his phone and pulled up his WhatsApp chat with Skyler. "Boss, you'll understand when you see this."

So happy for Carey, the reunion with her family is touching. Can we read more of Caitlin and Gordon? Readers are forgetting that Caitlin has a boyfriend by the way. Is it normal for their relationship to be erased in the storyline?...
Update please......
But where is Gordon?...
Great story, great author!...
