The Divorce Prescription (Celina and Adam) novel Chapter 940

"That's not what I meant," Hailey quickly responded. "I just don't want to drink it because I'm—"

She almost said she was pregnant, but Justin cut her off before she could finish.

"Ms. Hailey, it's clear you're doing this on purpose. If you're not trying to provoke me, then drink the coffee. Now."

In a quiet corner of the restaurant, Ewan and Joanne watched from the shadows.

They had been excited when Hailey reached for the coffee, but when she set it down instead, they felt their hearts sink.

"Why isn't Hailey drinking the coffee?" Ewan snarled.

Joanne muttered a curse under her breath. "She's pregnant. Of course, she won't drink it. We should've made sure to order something else for her."

"If she won't drink it, we'll have to take control of the situation."

"And what's your plan?" Joanne asked.

"With no one else around, we'll simply take Hailey and head straight to the operating table."

Joanne nodded. If Hailey wouldn't drink the coffee, they'd have no choice but to take matters into their own hands.

Hailey watched Justin closely, her suspicion deepening as she noticed his anxious reaction. "Justin, why are you acting like this just because I won't drink the coffee? Is there something wrong with it?"

A flicker of guilt crossed Justin's face. "I—"

Hailey's eyes shifted to the cup. "Did you put something in it?"

"I…" Justin hesitated, his silence speaking volumes.

Hailey stood up abruptly, her anger flaring as she stared at him. "So you drugged my coffee, huh? Does Jonah know about this?"

Justin shifted uncomfortably. The truth was, he had never wanted to drug Hailey.

Joanne let out a mocking laugh. "Exactly! Hailey, it seems like you're not interested in the easy way. Since you refused the coffee, now you'll have no choice but to come with us."

With a flick of her hand, the bodyguards moved in, seizing Hailey.

Hailey fought back. "Let go of me! Joanne, what are you doing? Where are you taking me?"

Joanne sneered. "You'll find out soon enough, Ms. Hailey."

Hailey shook her head. "No, I won't go!"

She turned to Justin. "So, Justin, are you really just going to stand there and watch while Joanne drags me away?"

Justin stepped closer to Joanne, his voice dropping to a murmur. "Joanne, where did these bodyguards come from?"

The guards were obviously well-trained. Justin was equally thrown off—he had no clue why Joanne suddenly appeared with such a large force.
