The plane had barely landed in Switzerland when Peter sent another video.
Kingsley sat in the pickup car, watched it, and typed out a line: [Are you stalking her?]
Peter replied instantly: [What are you thinking? I'm not that bored. My brother had a lunch meeting with her to discuss a project and brought me along. Pure coincidence!]
Kingsley didn't reply. His fingers tapped lightly on the phone screen, his thoughts unknown.
The car soon stopped downstairs at the branch office. He tightened his trench coat and got out, Xavier following closely with a briefcase.
Entering the office, Xavier had just placed the laptop on the desk when Kingsley's voice rang out: "Notify everyone. Meeting this afternoon."
"Got it!" Xavier responded immediately and turned to arrange it.
At a restaurant table, Lucy was discussing project design and concepts with David—Peter's half-brother.
Throughout the discussion, she exuded a professional and sharp aura. For every idea David threw out, she accurately captured the core and provided a response that fit the needs perfectly.
This was exactly why David was always willing to work with The Holt Group—entirely because of Lucy's irreplaceable ability.
Peter sat to the side, occasionally chipping in with a question.
Lucy kept business and personal matters separate. As long as it was work-related, she answered everything in detail. Peter didn't dare bring up any unrelated topics like he had before.
When the discussion ended, Lucy stood up, said her goodbyes, and was the first to leave the restaurant.
She had only taken a few steps when her phone vibrated. A message popped up: [Kingsley has landed in Switzerland.]
A wave of irritation instantly surged in her heart. Lucy sneered, muttered "Sick" under her breath, and quickly typed a one-word reply: [Okay.]
Lucy scanned the title on the screen—Sherwood Group Old District Renovation Project Blueprints.
She reached out, grabbed the mouse, and scrolled through. A moment later, she frowned. "There's a problem here. Structural safety and compliance aren't up to standard."
"Tell me about it," Jules sighed. "They missed this critical item, and now all the previous work is wasted. We have to rush the schedule."
"You called me here to modify the blueprints?" Lucy turned the computer back, her tone uncertain.
Jules nodded, his tone sincere. "I want you to assist in modifying them so we can restart construction as soon as possible and try to finish before the delivery date."
He added, "Just assist with the drawing. Someone else will follow up later."
Lucy nodded. "Fine."
