The Ex-Wife's Triumph novel Chapter 175

The next day, Kingsley didn't go into the office. Instead, he stayed in his study, conducting consecutive virtual meetings for both the Sherwood Group and Cosmoscope Group.

He specifically instructed Shane to promote an executive assistant from within Cosmoscope to help handle internal affairs and coordination.

Hearing this, Shane grinned so wide it nearly split his face—his workload was about to drop significantly.

Switzerland, Morning.

When Kingsley's flight landed, Peter was there to pick him up personally.

As Kingsley settled into the back seat, Peter handed him a bottle of water, teasing, "Back so soon? Don't worry, Lucy didn't run. I've been keeping an eye on her for you."

"You had people watching her?" Kingsley looked up, his dark eyes rippleless as he stared at the grinning Peter.

Peter quickly waved his hands, tone ingratiating. "I didn't dare watch her twenty-four-seven! Just... kept a loose eye on things."

"Pull them back," Kingsley said, his voice dropping a few degrees.

"Right, right!" Peter agreed immediately, sending a quick text to Shane.

Shane, still working overtime, saw the message and replied with a single brisk: [OK!]

Kingsley didn't go to the Sherwood Group branch.

Sitting in the car, his finger hovered over his screen before tapping Lucy's number.

The first call went unanswered. The second was picked up.

Lucy's voice came through, sounding detached. "Hello?"

"It's Kingsley," he said straight away. "Are you free for lunch? Let's talk."

She reached for the handle, but a warm, large hand pressed over hers.

"Let's talk." Kingsley's voice carried a note that refused refusal.

The sharpness in Kingsley's eyes faded, replaced by softness. "I want to say I'm sorry for what happened before."

Lucy's face remained impassive, but the corner of her mouth hooked into a sneer. "Not needed. Save it for someone else."

She reached for the door again. Kingsley held it shut.

"I will compensate you," he said earnestly. "Whatever you want, as long as I can do it."

"Fine," Lucy raised her cold eyes, anger flashing clearly now. "Disappear from my sight immediately, and never come to Switzerland again."
