The Ex-Wife's Triumph novel Chapter 47

Ethan spread his hands helplessly. The thought of it depressed him. "Not only did he throw a tantrum, but he also blocked me on every app. I'm still blacklisted."

"You deserve it!" Thurston laughed from the sofa, then glanced at Kingsley, whose face was dark. "But honestly, he just mentioned your ex-wife. You're divorced. It's been over, so why can't people talk about it?"

He leaned in as if realizing something. "Don't tell me... you still have feelings for her?"

Kingsley didn't respond, only shooting him a warning glare. "Ran out of things to talk about?"

"Hey, just chatting! We agreed no work talk tonight." Thurston swallowed his words upon meeting Kingsley's eyes.

Kingsley glanced at him. "So we're not discussing the land in the Eastborough District?"

"Of course we discuss it!" Hearing "Eastborough District," Thurston sat up straight. "How much share is Sherwood Group releasing?"

Kingsley tapped his finger slowly against his glass. "Half. But The Fletcher Group can only take one-third of that."

"Considering how tight we are, that's all you're giving me? You really don't treat me like a brother!" Thurston complained.

Ethan chimed in, "You know how cold-blooded he is."

"I know!" Thurston sighed.

Kingsley looked at him. "You know why. Make up the funds, and everything is negotiable. Otherwise, there are plenty of people wanting a piece of the Eastborough project."

Thurston stood up too. "I'm leaving. I'll cover the bill. You drink slowly."

"Wait, you called me here, and we haven't even been here an hour!" Ethan complained to the empty air. "Next time, don't call me!"

Downstairs, Kingsley walked past the lounge area. Seeing the familiar figure, he didn't stop.

Thurston caught up to him. "You go ahead. I'll drive them back to the hotel."

Kingsley glanced sideways. "None of my business."

"Right, none of your business. Since you're divorced and all." Thurston smirked, his tone sarcastic.
