Inside the Sherwood Group, the moment Kingsley stepped into his office, he instructed Shane, "Have them come to Sherwood Group."
Shane nodded. "Got it."
He placed the files he was carrying on the corner of the desk and turned to leave the office.
Once outside, Shane immediately messaged Emma, attaching the detailed address of the Sherwood Group.
On the other end of the screen, Emma saw the message and replied with a single concise word: [Okay.]
Half an hour later,
Kingsley walked into the conference room with a steady gait, followed closely by Shane and a secretary.
He took the seat at the head of the table, tapped his fingers lightly on the surface, and swept his gaze over the Westmount Project planning documents before him. His voice was deep and carried unquestionable authority.
"First, the core positioning—is the Westmount Project going to be starter homes or high-end luxury residences? The direction must be clear."
The planning manager immediately stood up and opened a PowerPoint presentation.
"We've tentatively positioned it as an 'Ecological High-End Residential Area.' Westmount itself has natural landscape advantages, and the subway line to be built nearby will solve transportation pain points..."
Before he could finish, Kingsley raised a hand to cut him off, "Have you confirmed the timeline for the surrounding education and medical facilities with the government? Without a clear schedule, 'high-end' is just empty talk."
The general manager quickly added, "We contacted the District Development Committee yesterday. We'll get a preliminary timetable for the infrastructure planning next Wednesday. Today, we can advance the discussion around the temporary framework of 'Landscape + Transportation.'"
Lucy nodded and said flatly, "I'm used to it."
She thought of herself two years ago, always staying up until dawn binge-watching shows on her phone. Now, staying up to draw and revise drafts had become routine.
But if she had to choose again, she would still choose the latter—at least these days felt grounded and fulfilling.
A few minutes later, Kingsley and Shane walked into the reception room.
Kingsley sat in the chair opposite, his gaze landing directly on Lucy. He said simply, "Let's begin."
Lucy clicked the mouse, bringing up the design marked "Revised Version," and began her report in a steady voice.
