The Ex-Wife's Triumph novel Chapter 75

Kingsley finally raised his eyes to look at him. After a moment of silence, he nodded.

At noon, Kingsley arrived at the restaurant with Ethan and Shane to meet their business partner.

When they pushed the door open, Peter was already waiting at the table.

Seeing Kingsley, Peter immediately stood up to greet him enthusiastically. "Kingsley! We haven't seen each other in almost a year. I missed you so much!"

He reached out to give Kingsley a hug, but Kingsley blocked him with a raised hand.

"This is Dr. Ethan Sterling. He is currently single," Kingsley introduced coolly.

Hearing the word "single," Peter's eyes lit up instantly. A beaming smile spread across his face as he hurriedly extended a hand to Ethan. "Hello, I'm Peter!"

Before Ethan could react, Peter stepped in and hugged him, his large hands giving a couple of squeezes to his waist.

The first squeeze, Ethan thought it was accidental. But when the second one landed, his expression darkened, and he pushed Peter away.

After sitting down, Ethan leaned in and whispered in Kingsley's ear, "Is he gay?"

Kingsley glanced at him sideways and replied calmly, "Yes. But he's rich. If you keep him happy, your research funding will be secured."

"Fuck off! I'm straight, man!"

Ethan glared at Kingsley, then shot a glance at Peter, silently criticizing the man's effeminate vibe.

Having been pushed away, Peter realized he had been rejected. He decided to be direct. "Mr. Sterling, I prefer mutual affection. I was presumptuous just now, and I apologize!"

Peter shook his head helplessly. "You're still the same. So manipulative!"

He raised his wine glass, and the group clinked glasses gently.

"By the way, why did you suddenly come to Switzerland?" Peter asked abruptly. "I invited you several times before, and you never came."

Kingsley swirled his wine glass gently, watching the ripples, but showed no intention of drinking. He replied with one word: "Work."

Peter couldn't help but tease, "It's just branch office matters, yet it's worth a personal trip? Since when are you so dedicated?"

Ethan clearly didn't buy Kingsley's explanation either. He looked at Kingsley but couldn't read anything on his face, so he suppressed his suspicions for the moment.
