In accordance with Finnegan's wishes, all the contract documents were revised, removing any clauses that could potentially be traps.
Patrick took over full ownership of Firebird Winery, which would no longer have anything to do with anyone else.
The transfer of ownership of Firebird Winery was no longer a gift from Bruce.
Instead, the terms had been amended to Patrick taking on the debt and acquiring Firebird Winery.
After this, even if Bruce wanted to scheme, he wouldn't be able to take advantage of the terms.
With his plans thwarted, Bruce asked with a cold expression, “Are you satisfied now?”
After carefully examining both sides, Finnegan, confident that there were no issues, handed the contract documents to Patrick. “There doesn't seem to be any problem with the contract. But are you sure you want to do this, Old Mr. Zimmerman? You should remember that these are both your sons.”
Fearing that Bruce might change his mind at the last minute, Millicent spoke up first. “A decision announced in public cannot be altered. It has to be this way.”
Bruce glanced at the disappointed Patrick and sighed quietly. “Patrick is capable and talented, and Bernie is also very promising. I believe their family can grow stronger. But with the sudden changes at this point in Bishop's life and his lack of ability, I, as a father, have to help him! Moreover, even if Patrick's family can't make it, you'll be there, won't you? Bishop and his family have no one to rely on!”
Bruce's speech made it sound as though he was still the doting father, considering his children's needs.
However, Finnegan could only scoff at that. “Let's not sugarcoat things. We all know exactly what you're planning. The clause about the invisible shareholding entrustment earlier has said it all!”
A gloomy look flashed across Bruce's eyes.
He felt that Finnegan was truly detestable for exposing all his schemes, making it impossible for him to deceive Patrick.
Millicent urged, “That's enough. Why all this talk? Hurry up and sign!”
Only after Patrick signed could she stop worrying about the debt being transferred to Bishop.
Only after Patrick signed could everything Bishop inherited become net assets.
Patrick silently picked up the pen.
However, Finnegan stopped him. “Old Mr. Zimmerman, once Mr. Patrick signs this, your familial bond will fade, and I will have no ties with the Zimmerman family anymore. You understand that, right?”
Millicent and Bishop were unfazed. They didn't want to have any sort of relationship with Finnegan.
Only Queenie felt differently. Her eyelids were twitching uncontrollably, and the sense of unease she felt last night surged within her again.
She felt certain that Finnegan must have had a backup plan. He won't just stand by and let Bernice's family suffer the loss in silence!
Bruce also felt a sense of unease.
However, at the thought of Bernice being his own granddaughter, he felt Finnegan wouldn't dare to act recklessly. “Blood ties can't be severed. Once you marry Bernie, you'll still have to address me as your grandpa!”
Upon hearing such a response, Finnegan knew that saying more would be pointless.
He took a step back to give Patrick space to sign the documents.
Without any hesitation, Patrick signed and affixed his fingerprints on all the contract documents.
Once Bruce had also signed and stamped the document, Patrick tucked away his own copy and stood up. “Finnegan, let's go.”
Knowing that Patrick was in a bad mood at the moment, Finnegan said to Bruce, “Fend for yourself!”
Following Patrick, they left directly.
Finally, Millicent revealed a triumphant smile. “At last, I can be at peace. Finally, I can truly be at peace.”
As of that day, the ideas she had harbored for many years had finally come to fruition.
The Zimmerman family and the company belonged to Bishop. Patrick also left the Zimmerman family without taking a single penny.
Moreover, Patrick had even cleared away the majority of the debt. The outcome was even better than she had initially anticipated.
Their debt amounted to roughly four billion.
Even after accounting for mortgaged assets, there was still a staggering debt of around two and a half billion.
Finnegan picked up a piece of duck confit and placed it on Bernice's plate. “If you want to know why it's good, you should first fill your stomach.”
Upon hearing that, Bernice said, “You must not deceive me, then.”
“Of course. Mr. Patrick, you should eat as well. I won't let you down!”
Patrick and Bernice's mood improved slightly after they took in Finnegan's confident demeanor.
They still didn't have much of an appetite, so after eating a little, they put down their forks.
Knowing that they really couldn't eat anymore, Finnegan casually grabbed a napkin to wipe his mouth. No longer keeping them in suspense, he asked, “What's the quickest and most effective way for Firebird Winery to turn losses into profits?”
Patrick replied, “We launched new products that are well-received in the market.”
Otherwise, if Firebird Winery continued to rely on its original leading brands of vodka, the products would inevitably be phased out by the market sooner or later.
Finnegan chuckled. “That's right. This is the fastest and most effective method. We have to launch a new product.”
Bernice furrowed her brows and said, “But is it ever that simple?”
The liquor market had a high demand for taste. If the taste failed to appeal to the public, launching any number of new products would be futile.
Moreover, was it really that easy to launch a new type of liquor?
That required a substantial amount of financial investment and a considerable amount of time for verification.
Finnegan cleared his throat and slipped his hand into his pocket. “It might be a bit difficult for you all. But for me... achieving that feat is as simple as ABC!”
