The Heiress Nobody Saw Coming (Natalie and Marcus) novel Chapter 681

After Natalie and Marcus ended the call with Laura, they continued strolling along the street.

Every day, Charlotte would send her messages, reminding her to eat well and have fun. Her brothers would also send messages in the group chat, as well as some money to let her spend.

Despite her busy schedule, Natalie always responded to her family's messages promptly.

Upon their return, she planned to visit the Walker residence more often. She had already mentioned it to Marcus, who fully supported her decision.

His only request was simple—if she wanted to stay over at the Walker residence, she had to take him with her. Natalie couldn't help but laugh, reaching out to hug him tightly.

After their hug, Marcus finally felt at ease. Ever since they had confirmed their feelings, Marcus had been dealing with lingering insecurity.

Natalie found it a little odd. She didn't quite understand why Marcus would feel that way.

"Marcus, setting me aside for a moment, are there any places you would like to go to?" As they continued their stroll, Natalie suddenly looked over and asked, "Before meeting me, was there anywhere you especially loved or always wanted to visit?"

Marcus thought about it for a while, then shook his head. "Before I met you, everything in my life was already mapped out. Every day, I follow a schedule. Other than that, I spent most of my time with Grandpa."

The moment he mentioned Charles, Marcus' expression dimmed. If Charles were still around, he would've been the happiest and most content man alive.

Natalie held his hand. "If Grandpa could see how happy we are, he'd be smiling for sure."

"Yes." Marcus held her hand tightly. "Nat, thank you for staying by my side. If it weren't for you, I don't know if I ever would've made it through. I still think of Grandpa all the time. I dream of him often when I sleep at night."

As Marcus spoke, his eyes reddened. He turned his head, not wanting Natalie to see his vulnerable side.

"Marcus, let me feel your pulse!" Natalie suggested, trying to cheer him up.

She placed her fingers gently against his wrist and put on a serious face. After a while, she broke into a smile. "Congratulations! You're going to be a dad!"

"Huh?" Marcus was confused. "Nat, I'm a man. I can't get pregnant."

Natalie kept smiling. "That's right. I said you're going to be a dad, not that you're the one who's pregnant!"

"Huh?" Marcus froze. He stared at her blankly as his brain struggled to process what was going on.

Seeing his dumbfounded look, Natalie couldn't hold back anymore. She giggled and then lifted her own hand. Then, she said slowly, "I'm pregnant. You're going to be a father."

"Really?" Marcus finally returned to his senses. He pulled Natalie into his arms, his voice choked with emotion. "Nat, are you really pregnant?"

"Yes, I really am." Natalie wrapped her arms around him, hugging him back. "I'm not sure exactly when it happened, but I'm certain I'm pregnant."

Her voice softened. "I wasn't planning on telling you so soon, but when I saw how down you were, I thought maybe this would cheer you up.

"Marcus, are you happy?" Natalie's expression was gentle, and her voice was soft. When she saw his red-rimmed eyes, her heart softened.

This man, she thought, was completely different from the one she first met.

"I'm happy," Marcus choked out. He hugged her tightly. "Nat, I'm beyond happy. Promise me, okay? From now on, no more fighting, and no more risky stuff. Please?"
