The Heiress Nobody Saw Coming (Natalie and Marcus) novel Chapter 704

Before Samuel could say anything, Sky coldly said, "Did you come back and forget how to be a decent person, so someone taught you a lesson and broke your leg?"

"Sky!" Samuel snapped, coldly glaring at him. "If you're just here to laugh at me, then get the hell out."

"You were rude to me first. What makes you think I'd be polite?" Sky said coolly. "Honestly, considering your attitude, I'm surprised they didn't break your other leg too."

"You—" Samuel wanted to snap back, but when he met Sky's frosty gaze, the words got stuck in his throat.

It had been years since they last saw each other. The only reason Samuel dared speak to him this way was because Sky had once been engaged to Sophia.

Back then, Sky still had to acknowledge Samuel politely, but after everything that had happened between them, Samuel no longer had the right to act superior.

Samuel asked, "Why are you here, Sky? You and Sophia had a huge falling out. Don't tell me you suddenly care about me."

Sky actually smiled at that. He gave Samuel a slow once-over and replied, "It's no wonder Sierra wants a divorce. After so many years abroad, you've really forgotten where you came from. Samuel, you're rude, ungrateful, and completely lacking in decency."

Sky stood up. "I came today just to see you. Now that I know what kind of person you are, I'm leaving. Samuel, until we meet again."

He gave a slight, humorless smile. "We'll meet again soon, Samuel. Next time, I hope you'll still be as arrogant. Take care of your leg. Hopefully, when I see you next, you'll have a fully functional body."

With that, he turned to leave.

"Sky, stop right there!" Samuel shouted, completely losing it. "You hurt my sister. You owe me!"

Sky paused and slowly turned around to look at Samuel. "What did you just say? Say it again."

"You hurt my sister, so you owe me," Samuel growled through clenched teeth. "I demand that you deal with Marcus. It was Marcus' men who broke my leg. If you break Marcus' leg, I'll forgive you for what you did to my sister."

Sky was now sure he hadn't misheard. He let out a bitter laugh. "Samuel, are you out of your mind?"

He wasn't shy about insulting him. "I think it's not your leg that's broken—it's your brain. How do you even have the audacity to say something like that? What does the incident between me and Sophia have to do with you?

"When you were a kid, you were at least somewhat normal, but now you've turned into an idiot. Samuel, if you've got a mental problem, you should get it treated. Don't go around acting like a rabid dog, biting anyone you can. I didn't come here for you to bite me," Sky coldly added before walking away.

"Sky, have I said something wrong?" Samuel roared. "Wasn't everything that happened to Sophia your doing? Even if it wasn't, it's still tied to you! I'm her brother. She's been hurt by you and your whole damn family. You think you don't owe me? Why do you think you don't need to make it right?"

Sky had been drinking earlier, but he was still under the enforcement office's watch and couldn't afford to lay a finger on anyone. Still, Samuel's words were pushing him close to the edge.

He took a few deep breaths, trying to douse the fire burning in his chest.

With a heavy, controlled tone, Sky said, "Samuel, you don't have the right to demand compensation as Sophia's brother. The person I owe an apology to is Sophia, not you.

After venting his rage, Samuel slumped back down on the couch, panting heavily.

Since his hospitalization, neither Sierra, Jonathan, nor Melissa had bothered to call him once. It was as if they had completely forgotten about him.

Every time he reached out to Sierra, she only ever said one thing. "When are you flying back to finalize the divorce?"

Whenever he tried to bring up anything else, she hung up immediately. After a few more attempts, she blocked him completely.

It was then that Samuel truly realized—Sierra was dead set on divorcing him.

After so many years together, she just walked away without a second thought.

Samuel couldn't accept it.

He couldn't understand why Sierra would refuse to stand by him after everything between them. Instead, she wanted to divorce him for the sake of Sophia, whom she hadn't even grown up with.

He had told her that he didn't care about what happened to her in the past. He could accept it. However, Sierra didn't even want to talk to him about it. She just went straight to demanding a divorce.

After his outburst, Samuel took a few deep breaths to calm himself before looking at the maid, Maggie Grey, who had been hiding in a corner. "Maggie, make another call. I want Sierra to come see me."
