“I hear the three-piece implants are quite advanced these days. For the sake of your future happiness, perhaps you should consider getting one?” Vivica said, walking towards them with the cash in her hand. Her words were directed at Fletcher.
“Make sure you get the largest size. I’ll cover the cost. This twenty thousand should be enough. Consider it my gift to you two for getting back together. No need to thank me.”
With that, Vivica stuffed the money into Riley’s hands.
At first, both of them were confused, not understanding what a “three-piece implant” was. But as Vivica finished speaking, realization dawned, and their faces instantly turned crimson.
“Vivica, you’ve gone too far!” Fletcher roared, realizing she was mocking him for being impotent.
“Have I? I thought you’d be grateful for my generosity.”
Vivica wasn’t sure when she had become so vicious, but she couldn't stand the sight of them being happy together. She wanted to make them sick.
“Riley has been with other men. She’s not going to be as patient as I was. If you can’t fix your little problem, she’ll leave you eventually. I’m just trying to help you—”
Before she could finish, Fletcher snapped. He lunged forward, his hand raised to strike her.
Vivica reacted quickly, dodging backward, but she moved too hastily and lost her footing.
Just as she stumbled, Joseph was there again, his hand catching her from behind to steady her. At the same time, his other hand shot up, grabbing Fletcher’s wrist and stopping the slap mid-air.
“Mr. Sanford, assaulting my client in front of her lawyer is not a wise move,” Joseph warned calmly.
Vivica, who had braced herself for a fall, was startled to find herself saved by Joseph once again. She looked up at him and stammered her thanks. “Mr. Baird, thank you so much.”
Her eyes were drawn to the way he held Fletcher’s wrist, effortlessly pushing him back with a slight shove. A strange feeling stirred within her. She knew it was inappropriate, but she couldn’t help but think: Joseph was so powerful, so reassuring. It was as if nothing in the world could faze him. He was always in control, always composed.
Fletcher, intimidated by Joseph’s power and status, gritted his teeth in humiliation but didn’t dare to press the attack. He knew that if he laid a hand on Vivica, it would only be used against him in court.
After a tense standoff, Fletcher finally swallowed his pride. “Riley, ignore her. Let’s go,” he said, shooting Vivica one last hateful glare before storming off with Riley in tow.
Vivica, feeling a sense of vindication, called after them, adding one last jab. “Remember to get the biggest size! You don’t want to lose your true love!”
