Primrose stared at the stack of notebooks for a long while, torn between opening them or just leaving them alone.
She knew her husband wasn’t the type who acted soft and kind toward others all the time. That’s why she wouldn’t be surprised if he had written about torturing people in those pages.
But ... wouldn’t it be exciting to take a look?
Maybe just a little peek wouldn’t hurt.
Primrose glanced around the office, turning her head in every direction to make sure she was alone.
She was honestly quite puzzled why Edmund hadn’t placed even a single spying device in his own office, yet he had installed so many in her bedroom.
How did she know? It was actually simple. If Edmund had placed even one spying device in his office, he would have known that Primrose had taken his diary back then. But it turned out he was completely clueless until she told him herself.
Besides that, if there were any spying devices now, Edmund would have barged in the moment she tried to open one of his diaries.
Well, she promised herself she would just ... take a peek, maybe two pages would be enough.
"Let’s see ...." Her hand hovered over the pile before picking the notebook at the very bottom. "What kind of people made you angry, husband?"
Unlike his usual diary, there was no date on each page, so Primrose immediately began reading the first page.
[My wife forbade me to kiss her feet—]
Primrose instantly snapped the book shut and froze for a moment. Her gaze went blank as she stared forward before slowly blinking a few times.
What ... what the hell was that?
Wasn’t this supposed to be his "bad" diary? The one filled with torture and bloody confessions? So why did she see the words ’wife’ and ’feet’ in the very first sentence?
Could this be the real forbidden book, where he wrote down his deepest, most hidden desires? Or was this just one odd notebook among many?
Her face grew hot with embarrassment, but curiosity gnawed at her. After taking a deep breath, she opened it again.
[I would be happy if my wife stepped on my face.]
BAM!
Primrose slammed it shut so hard the sound echoed through the room. She even had the urge to throw it on the floor, but thankfully she managed to restrain herself because she didn’t want Edmund’s "precious" book to get damaged.
In the end, she pushed that book aside and quickly grabbed another.
[Those damned spies from the Vellmoria Kingdom are truly testing my patience.]
Ah, this one seemed more ... normal.
[My wife and I are doing well, but I heard from Father that bad rumors about us are spreading in the Vellmoria Kingdom.]
[They claim I’m a womanizer because I allowed another woman to sneak into my bedroom, and they say my wife has been reduced to a sex slave, which is why she rarely leaves her chamber.]
Primrose’s jaw dropped when she read that. It seemed like Leah’s incident had also reached those spies, and now they thought Edmund enjoyed spending the night with other women.
What nonsense was this? Did they miss the part where the mighty Lycan King banished Leah to the Forsaken North for sneaking into his bedroom?
And if that wasn’t bad enough, they dared to say he had turned his wife into a sex slave?
Who the hell spread these lies?! She didn’t even spend all her time locked in her room!
Well, maybe she did. But it was only when she was sick or after the tragedy in Moonshadow that she really stayed inside for days.
Did the spies think she stayed in her room so long after returning from Moonshadow because Edmund had forbidden her from going out so that he could use her every night?
What a joke.
Her husband hadn’t even stepped foot into her chamber during that time.
Sex slave, my ass.
Edmund would rather cut off his own dick than ever think of her that way.
Besides, how could anyone think Edmund had forced her to be his sex slave when she was always smiling every time she was near him?!
Did they believe she was only faking her happiness, just to please him and seduce him? Was it simply because her husband rarely smiled, so they assumed he didn’t care about her that much?
