It was almost ten at night when Edmund finally returned to their bedroom. He had already bathed and changed in another room, making sure that when he stepped inside, Primrose wouldn’t be greeted by the scent of his sweat.
He expected to find her curled up on the bed, half-asleep as usual. But instead, what he saw nearly stopped his heart.
Primrose—his beloved, his beautiful wife—stood in front of the door wearing nothing but the see-through purple nightgown, the neckline plunging so low he could almost see the entirety of her breasts.
Crash!
Edmund instinctively slammed the door shut, terrified that someone might accidentally catch sight of his wife’s precious body.
"Husband, welcome back," Primrose said with a soft smile. Her voice was sweet, dripping like honey, as she stepped toward him. "So ... what did Dr. Celdric say?"
Edmund’s throat tightened as he swallowed hard, his gaze falling helplessly to the deep valley of her breast.
Her breasts ... lately they had grown fuller. He remembered reading in pregnancy books that it was normal, and that they would only grow bigger once she began producing milk.
The thought alone made his manhood ache painfully against his trousers.
He had never cared about the size of her breasts, anything about his wife was perfect to him. Still, he couldn’t deny the way temptation consumed him whenever he looked at her now, softer and plumper than before.
"D-Dr. Celdric said ... we can do it," Edmund admitted slowly. "But we have to be careful. He also suggested some positions that won’t put pressure on your stomach."
Primrose pressed her lips together, her cheeks heating with embarrassment. The fact that her husband had discussed such things with Dr. Celdric made her want to hide under the blankets. But still ... maybe it was for the best.
"Like what?" she asked, stepping closer until she leaned against him. "Can we still hug while doing it?"
"We can." Without warning, Edmund swept her off the floor, holding her in his arms so their faces were perfectly aligned. His voice turned tender. "Even when your belly grows, I’ll find a way to hold you and love you properly."
Primrose’s hands rested on his shoulders, and she let out a soft laugh. "You’ve already loved me properly all this time." She bit her lip, her eyes shimmering with desire. "Husband ... do you remember this gown?"
Edmund held his breath as his eyes dipped lower again. "You wore it on our wedding night."
"Yes." Primrose leaned in until their lips nearly touched. "The night you left me alone in my bedroom, so I had no choice but to touch myself for hours. I suffered so much that day, husband."
"I’m not perfect," Edmund murmured, pulling back just enough to look straight into her eyes. "I have so many flaws."
"So do I," Primrose whispered softly. "But isn’t that what love means? To love someone completely, even the parts they try to hide. When you can love every piece of a person, even their darkest side ... that’s when love is truly pure."
They had already walked through the darkest moments of their relationship, yet their love still remained. In the end, no matter how many flaws they carried, as long as they continued to love each other, it was more than enough.
"I love you, Edmund." She pressed her forehead to his and gave him a gentle kiss on the tip of his nose. "I love you dearly."
Edmund closed his eyes, savoring the warmth of her words. He then walked toward the bed while whispering, "I love you too, Primrose. More than I could ever put into words. You are my everything."
He kissed her deeply, pouring all the love he couldn’t express into that single moment. As her arms wrapped around him, pulling him closer, he knew with certainty that no storm, no trial, no shadow from the past could ever break the bond they now shared.
When their deep kiss finally ended, Primrose pulled back slightly, her face glowing red. "So ... according to Dr. Celdric, what kind of positions would be comfortable for us now?" she asked shyly.
Edmund’s lips curved into a faint smile. "There are a few options," he murmured, brushing his thumb along her cheek. "But I think I already know the one you’ll love the most."
