The Paper Wife’s Empire novel Chapter 330

From afternoon until late into the night, Ethan and Ramona worked tirelessly, barely taking a break. Even so, they only managed to complete half of the planned shots.

Still, their progress far exceeded the crew’s expectations. It was all thanks to their natural chemistry and striking looks; they seemed to transform any setting into a picturesque scene, every shot a work of art.

The directors from the Emperor Palace were ecstatic, congratulating themselves on choosing the perfect cultural ambassadors. Any one of the photos taken today was guaranteed to go viral.

When they finally wrapped up for the day, it was late. Feeling that the crew was exhausted and hadn’t had a proper meal, Ramona suggested treating everyone to a late supper. Ethan, of course, supported her idea without hesitation. He had Ash find the most popular spot nearby—a lively street packed with bars and barbecue joints—and told the crew to order whatever they wanted, all on his tab.

Ramona and a few of the makeup artists chose a popular crawfish restaurant, with Ethan by her side. He had barely eaten all day either. Knowing he didn’t care for overly rich food, she ordered a light seafood soup, some savory pastries, and seasonal vegetables for him. But when the food arrived, Ethan didn’t touch his own plate, instead dutifully putting on a pair of gloves to peel crawfish for her.

He had no experience with such things, but after observing the others at the table, he quickly picked it up. His movements were clumsy and slow. Ash offered to take over, but Ethan waved him off, so Ash joined him in the task.

Ramona didn’t want him to go hungry for her sake. After telling him to eat, she finally took matters into her own hands and pulled off his gloves.

“You don’t have to peel these for me. I like doing it myself. You haven’t eaten all day. Please, eat with me.” Her voice was soft and coaxing.

Ethan would have ignored anyone else, but he couldn’t refuse Ramona. He obediently picked up his fork.

The affectionate display made everyone at the table blush. Despite Ethan and Ramona’s lack of pretense, the crew had been somewhat reserved, mindful of their status. But this public display of affection broke the ice.

“Wow… you’re making me believe in love again.”

“Ramona, I think we’re all going to get diabetes from how sweet you two are!”

Ramona blushed and ducked her head, clearing her throat. “Oh, stop it. Everyone, eat up… Ash, you too. Stop peeling and eat something.”

Ash glanced at Ethan, who gave him a slight nod. He sat down, but not before placing the two crawfish he had just peeled into Ramona and Ethan’s bowls. The crawfish had barely settled in Ethan’s bowl before he picked it up and placed it in Ramona’s.
