Chapter 418 Three More Treatments, Please
Chapter 418 Three More Treatments, Please
At last, Sloane gently withdrew the last of the needles. “It’s done.”
Jeffrey’s eyes fluttered open, still dazed and unfocused.
“Dad!” Kaizen lunged forward and gripped his father’s hand. “How are you feeling?”
Jeffrey’s pupils shifted slightly before his eyes closed again.
“Dad!”
“Grandpa!”
Kaizen and Shawn both turned pale with fright.

“Don’t worry,” Sloane said quickly. “He’s just too weak right now; he won’t stay conscious for long.”
“I see…” Kaizen let out a long, shaky breath of relief.
“How long will it take for him to wake up?” Shawn asked, holding tightly onto Jeffrey’s hand.
“It’ll take about three more rounds of treatment before he fully regains consciousness,” Sloane said as she gathered her needles. “During that time, his body will remain extremely fragile; you must protect him and ensure no one takes advantage of his condition.”
Otherwise, even the best doctor in the world wouldn’t be able to save him.
“Don’t worry, Dr. Rivers,” Kaizen said, standing slowly. Though his face was still pale, his sharp eyes had regained their old authority. Straightening his collar, he emanated an aura so powerful it made the air feel heavy.
“All right,” Sloane said with a faint smile. “Time to put on a show.”
When the door opened, everyone waiting outside was greeted by a dramatic scene–Kaizen and Shawn were slumped weakly in their chairs, pale and drained; Sloane looked utterly exhausted, her clothes damp with sweat; and Jeffrey on the bed, though still unconscious, looked noticeably better.
“Mr. Jeffrey!” The butler was the first to rush in.
“The treatment was a success,” Sloane announced loudly, making sure everyone could hear. “But he’ll need three more sessions before he makes a full recovery.”

As she spoke, Lucas’s sharp gaze swept across the room, silently noting every reaction.

The attending physician’s eyes flickered with panic for a split second before he composed himself again.
Zoey hurried to Kaizen’s side. “Honey, are you okay?”
Kaizen shook his head gently. “I’m fine. Saving my father comes first.”
Sloane’s sharp eyes caught something. When she mentioned “three more sessions,” the attending doctor’s assistant–Mary–twisted the hem of her coat nervously; and two maids exchanged a quick, uneasy glance.
Later that night, when the house had gone quiet, Sloane began the second round of treatment. The needles gleamed under the lamp as she worked with focused precision, turning each one delicately between her fingers.
Suddenly, hurried footsteps echoed down the hall.
“Dr. Rivers.” Kaizen pushed open the door, his black suit damp with dew from the night air; rage smoldered beneath his composed exterior. “We’ve got them.”
Without breaking her rhythm, Sloane inserted another needle. “How many?”
“Three.” Kaizen stepped up to the bedside, his voice low as he glanced at his father’s gradually recovering color. “Mary, the doctor’s assistant, was caught red–handed putting poison in the medicine. The two maids slipped up while trying to destroy the evidence.”
Lucas appeared silently in the doorway. “They all have the same viper tattoo.”
Kaizen let out a cold laugh and pulled a folder from his inner pocket. “This was found in their apartment–communication records.” His fingers trembled slightly as he handed it to Sloane. “Mirevia Geek Group. They’ve been trying to take over my family’s shipping routes for the past twenty years.”
