The Sickened Luna's Last Chance novel Chapter 380

**The Perfect 380**

**Chapter 380**

“Sophia never meant for anyone to get hurt,” her father interjected, his voice tinged with desperation, as if he were trying to shield her from the storm brewing in the room. “At her core, she’s a good girl. You remember the innocent child she was, the one you played with in the sun—”

“She stood by and let my wife die, John!” I interrupted, my voice rising, the fury spilling forth like a torrent. “She held our son in her arms, and when she had the chance to save his mother, she did nothing. Just stood there, frozen, while my world crumbled around me.” My glare could have sliced through steel, sharp and unyielding.

John’s lips pressed into a thin line, a sound escaping that was akin to a wet slap, betraying his discomfort. Meanwhile, Helen twisted her hands together, her anxiety palpable, radiating through the tension-laden air.

“He’s right, John,” she chimed in, urgency lacing her words. “What Sophia did is beyond forgiveness. We’d be lucky if Alpha Alexander offers us anything at all after this.”

A moment of hesitation flickered across John’s face, his brow furrowing as he weighed the gravity of the situation. Finally, he nodded, albeit reluctantly, as if surrendering to the inevitable. “Very well. What do you suggest we do?”

I inhaled deeply, feeling the weight of the moment pressing down on my chest. “As you know, my dear friend, Alpha Liam is currently in a coma. His condition is critical, and there’s a real possibility he may not pull through.”

“A tragedy,” Helen murmured, her fingers clutching her pearl necklace tightly, as though it were a talisman against the encroaching darkness. “He’s a good man, devoted to the Alpha Council.”

“Indeed.” I glanced between their faces, frustration bubbling beneath the surface, threatening to boil over. “Therefore, I propose that we host a charity gala in his honor. I want you to hold it here, at your estate, directing all proceeds to the Territorial Cancer Foundation. In exchange, I will…” My stomach churned at the thought, but I pressed on, steeling myself. “I will consider reducing your daughter’s sentence by six months.”

“Three months.” John’s brow knitted together, confusion evident in his eyes. “For a charity gala?”

“Yes.” I clasped my hands over my knee, forcing myself to remain composed. “I know you can manage this. I want the event to take place within forty-eight hours, and I expect everyone who is anyone in the territories to attend.”

John and Helen exchanged bewildered glances, their skepticism palpable. I could sense their uncertainty, prompting me to elaborate further, “Liam was Ella’s closest friend from childhood. Given what Sophia has done, the least you could do is honor both of their memories by facilitating this for me.”

Rising from my seat, I adjusted my suit jacket with a determined tug. “Can this be accomplished?” I asked, my voice steady, betraying none of the turmoil within. “One night of your effort in exchange for six months of your daughter’s freedom?”
