The Heir And The Servent Started From A Bet novel Chapter 161

Chapter 161

It’s been two days, two days of being a mother and she was loving it so well…

Her arms ached a little from holding the baby for so long, but she didn’t mind. Nothing else mattered now. Her baby had just drifted off beside her, his tiny chest rising and falling.

She’s still trying to get used to all this.

Her eyes stayed on him, her gaze fixed, unmoving, drinking in every small detail of his face. His tiny nose. The little curls. that were already forming on his head.

The way he frowned slightly in his sleep like he was already taking life a bit too seriously. That part made her smile. He was perfect. Her little miracle. Her everything.

The door opened slowly, quietly, as Ethan stepped in. Their mother and sisters followed right behind him. Mia looked up. Her mom’s face instantly lit up with a warm smile as she walked over to her.

Her mom reached out, holding Mia’s hands in both of hers. “Congratulations Mia. How are you?”

Mia nodded slowly, her voice calm but tired. “I’m okay, Mom. When did you guys get here?”

“We just got here,” Ann answered, eyes already glued to the baby sleeping peacefully beside Mia.

They all turned to look at him, circling around the hospital bed like he was the most fascinating thing they’d ever seen. And to Mia, he was. She didn’t even care if anyone else felt the same way. He was hers.

“Careful,” their mother warned, even though she leaned closer too, doing the exact same thing as the others. “So you don’t wake him up.”

Mia watched them, a soft smile tugging at the corners of her lips. This moment, this peaceful, warm, intimate moment…It felt unreal.

A sharp contrast to everything she had been through in the past nine months.

“Well, look at little Mia being a mom,” Lily said, her tone surprisingly soft. For the first time in a long time, there was no bite in her voice. No sarcasm. No mockery.

Mia glanced up at her, almost confused by the rare tenderness in her sister’s voice. But she didn’t question it. She was too tired to. Too full of emotions to poke holes into peace.

“What’s his name?” her mom asked gently.

Mia turned slowly to face her. Her arms rested lightly over her lap, fingers brushing against the folds of her hospital gown.

“Finally decided on one?” Ethan asked, his voice low and curious.

She nodded slowly.

“Yeah… I have. I’ve thought about it,” she said softly. There was a kind of awe in her voice, like she still couldn’t believe she had done this. Like she couldn’t believe that the tiny human sleeping beside her came from her.

She paused, letting her gaze settle on her baby again before continuing. “There’s one thing I know for sure though, his name won’t have Turner. And definitely not Blackwell added to it”

Ethan raised a brow, a half-smile forming on his face.

I should be hurt by that,” their mom said, laughing gently, “but I’m not.”

Mia chuckled at her mom’s words, the sound soft but real.

She looked down at her son again, her heart warming all over again. Her lips curved into a small, proud smile.

Aiden Rivers,” she said quietly.

Ethan blinked, confused. “Rivers?”

“That’s Grandpa’s name,” Ann said, her brows furrowing.

Mia nodded.

“He helped shape my childhood. I had the best holidays with him,” she said with a soft shrug. “So…”

“Because you were his favorite,” Lily cut in, half-joking, half-serious. “He wasn’t like that with us. Always pointing out how rotten me and Ann were. Plus, he hated Mom.”

“Which I deserved,” their mother admitted. “I was horrible to him too.”

Mia exhaled, her eyes never leaving her baby.

“I want Aiden to carry a name that means something. A name that comes from love, safety and warmth. Not pain, not guilt, not shame, not power or control.”

A long silence follows her words, the kind that wasn’t uncomfortable but thoughtful.

Ethan looked at her, his eyes shining with something that looked a lot like pride. He remembered how broken Mia had been when she first found out she was pregnant.

How many nights she cried so hard she could barely breathe. How terrified she was of what everyone would say. How she walked into school, her belly swelling, ignoring every whisper and side-eye.

But now… now she was something else.

Now she is a mother.

Not just any mother. A strong one. A grounded one. The kind of mother who didn’t want to repeat old mistakes. The kind of mother who knew exactly what she wanted for her child..

Ethan nodded again, this time more firmly. “Aiden Rivers is perfect.”

“Not like you’re going to listen if I asked you to change it anyway,” Lily said, rolling her eyes with a smile.

“I’m glad you know that,” Mia replied, her smile returning.
