After Felicia left, Andrea just stood there, staring at her as she walked away.

Felicia needed to catch the shuttle to the course. On her way to the pickup spot, she passed down a long corridor and spotted a man ahead, talking on his phone.

His voice was soft and warm, the kind that immediately puts you at ease. “Take your nap, sweetheart. Daddy will pick you up tonight. Listen to Grandma, okay?”

Hearing him, Felicia’s heart clenched. A rush of sadness welled up, burning behind her eyes.

He was talking to Anne.

Five years had passed.

All this time, she could only get updates about Anne from Luke. Max loved their daughter so much and insisted on caring for her himself. No wonder Anne was so attached to him.

Knowing her child was loved made Felicia feel a little better.
