The project’s main office was in another city, which meant she’d have to travel out of town for work.
Felicia gripped her club and said, “It’s my first project since coming back home. There’s no way I’m letting it flop.” She sent the ball flying with a confident swing.
If anyone else had said that, Jeremy might have been skeptical. But with Felicia, he didn’t doubt her for a second.
“I’ll be waiting to hear your good news,” he said.
They started walking together, chatting as they headed down the fairway.
A little ways off, Luke stood watching them. He was so focused that he didn’t even notice Savannah coming up beside him until she nudged him with her shoulder.
“What are you staring at, Luke?” Savannah asked, grinning.
He tore his gaze away from Felicia and gave Savannah a small, sheepish smile.
Savannah couldn’t help but roll her eyes affectionately. She’d known what was in his heart five years ago. Even then, Luke had been all about Felicia, but he’d always kept his distance and respected her boundaries. That told Savannah everything she needed to know about his character.
They’d grown up together, and honestly, she thought they made a pretty great match.
She glanced ahead at Felicia and Jeremy. Although now that she thought about it, Felicia and Jeremy looked pretty cute together too.
“Are you getting jealous?” Savannah teased, nudging Luke again.
He laughed. “What would I be jealous about? There’s nothing going on between Felicia and Jeremy.”
Savannah smirked. “Max still hasn’t divorced her, you know. She’s technically still his wife. You’ve got a lot of waiting ahead, my friend.” She gave his shoulder a reassuring pat.
That was exactly why Luke never dared to make a move. He could tell Felicia’s heart was completely focused on her work these days. That train wreck of a marriage with Max must have hurt her a lot.
He’d waited this long. What was a little more time?
After their round of golf, the group decided to play some tennis indoors.
As they rode the shuttle back to the courts, Savannah glanced out and spotted a familiar figure on another course. Her eyes narrowed as she recognized Max and Andrea together.
“Isn’t that Max?” Savannah muttered.
Andrea had just scored a point and turned around to high-five Max.

Update pls...
The story is a drag. How can they write crap like this where the female lead is like a lapdog, and the male lead is a complete trash? They use a child to blackmail the mother into staying. The female lead should not go back to the trashy male lead. I would prefer her to be with Jeremy....
Hey. Thank you for updating this novel here. Request you to update a big bulky lot of chapters please. It is such an interesting novel that 10 per day is simply not enough. Thanks again...
