After wrapping up her work, Felicia called Nate.

"You get into trouble and don't even think to call me," Nate complained, sounding grumpy.

Felicia apologized right away. "Work at Roen Capital has been crazy lately. I just haven't had time to deal with everything. Nate, are you free tonight? I’d like to come by and thank you properly."

"I'm a retired old man. All I've got is free time," Nate replied.

Felicia couldn't help but laugh a little.

"By the way, who did you manage to upset this time? Don't tell me the Hawthorne family found out about you."

Nate already knew it was Tatiana who had shut down Felicia's show. He'd even called Brandon and given him a piece of his mind about his wife's behavior. Brandon just listened, too scared to talk back, and promised he'd ask Tatiana about it and get back to Nate.

Felicia answered honestly. "Mrs. Hawthorne probably doesn't know who I am. She just didn't want me getting too close to Anne, and I didn't listen to her."

Nate frowned. "So when are you going to tell Anne the truth? She's your daughter. She's such a sweet kid. She deserves to know who her mom is. Then you wouldn't have to sneak around just to see her."

Felicia clutched her phone, eyes downcast. The truth was, she was scared. Scared that if Anne knew she was her mother, she'd resent her for leaving. And she couldn't figure out what Max was thinking, either. He cared so much for Andrea now. If he found out who Felicia really was, he probably wouldn't let Anne anywhere near her.

"I don't know," Felicia said quietly, her voice heavy with worry.

Nate let out a sigh. She just had to figure those things out herself. "If you want to see your child, just go see her. There's nothing to be afraid of. If the Hawthorne family tries to stop you from seeing your own daughter, I'll be the first one to give them a hard time."
