Outside the classroom, Mr. Salas couldn’t stop praising Felicia’s teaching. “Evelynn, your teaching style reminds me a lot of Mr. Milman,” he said warmly.

Felicia smiled, gracious and calm. “Mr. Milman is someone I really look up to.”

Mr. Salas nodded in approval. They chatted for a moment before he and the others left. Max stayed silent the entire time, never saying a word to Felicia. She didn’t look his way either. When he finally walked out, Felicia let out a quiet breath she hadn’t realized she was holding.

That single class ended up making Felicia a sensation on the campus forum. Someone had posted a candid photo of her taken from the side while she was teaching. In the picture, she stood at the podium, sharp and elegant, her posture perfect and her profile beautiful. The way she looked down, focused on her lesson, made her seem like the ultimate intelligent goddess.

Students immediately started speculating about her relationship with Mr. Milman. They couldn’t help but comment on how well they looked together. The thread quickly blew up.

Felicia had no idea any of this was happening online. After class, she stuck around to answer a few more questions from students. Then she headed back to Jeremy’s office and handed Liam the stack of books and materials.

“Thank you for today, Evelynn,” Liam said, offering her a sincere smile.

Felicia returned the smile.

She left the office and made her way toward the elevator. As she turned the corner, she spotted Max standing there, waiting. Felicia froze for a split second. Max glanced over, meeting her eyes. Without hesitating, Felicia spun around and walked straight back to Jeremy’s office.

Liam noticed her return. “Evelynn, did you forget something?” he asked.

Felicia sat down, looking relaxed. “I’m gonna wait here for a bit.”

Liam looked a little confused but didn’t ask more. He just remembered a few academic questions he wanted to ask, so Felicia patiently helped him. Sitting this close to her, Liam’s ears turned pink. Felicia noticed but pretended not to.

Felicia looked curious, so Liam handed her his phone. She scrolled through the thread, smiling at the students’ praise. Most of the comments were about her looks, or gossiping about whether she and Jeremy were dating. Felicia couldn’t help but laugh quietly at the rumors.
