Max walked straight to the bedside, looking down at the girl lying there. “How is it?”
Felicia turned her face away, not meeting his eyes. She didn’t want to talk to him. But then she caught sight of Anne’s big, watery eyes, and she couldn’t bring herself to stay silent. “I’m fine,” she said softly.
Max studied her for a moment but didn’t push. Instead, he looked over at Anne. “Anne, it’s time to go home.”
Anne puffed out her cheeks in protest, clearly not ready to leave.
Max tried again, his voice gentle. “You can come visit Evelynn again tomorrow.”
Felicia joined in, coaxing her. “Anne, you should head home for now.”
Remembering what Evelynn said, Anne finally gave in. “Then can I bring breakfast for you tomorrow?”
Felicia couldn’t say no to her daughter’s kindness. “Alright,” she agreed.
Anne waved goodbye to Ava.
Max scooped Anne up in his arms and left the room, handing her backpack to the nanny. He was strikingly handsome and tall, and with Anne in his arms, the two of them turned more than a few heads as they walked down the hallway.
Ava stayed with Felicia for a little while longer. Felicia didn’t need much looking after, so Ava left soon after.
The next morning, Anne arrived at the hospital bright and early.
Felicia had just finished getting ready in the bathroom when the door opened. Max walked in, carrying a thermal container.
“Good morning,” Anne chirped. She was wearing a pale yellow dress today, looking like a little ray of sunshine. Her cheerful energy was so contagious that Felicia almost forgot about Max standing there.
Max set the thermal container down on the coffee table.
Anne grabbed Felicia’s hand and pulled her to sit down. “You have to eat breakfast.”
Felicia sat on the sofa and smiled gently at Anne. “Did you already have yours, Anne?”
“Daddy and I ate before we came.”
Felicia avoided looking at Max and opened the container. The breakfast was simple and light — some pancakes, eggs, and soft bread rolls.
She noticed a serving of brown sugar egg custard. Anne pointed at it. “Daddy had someone make this just for you this morning, Evelynn.”
Felicia smiled at Anne and didn’t say anything else.

Update pls...
The story is a drag. How can they write crap like this where the female lead is like a lapdog, and the male lead is a complete trash? They use a child to blackmail the mother into staying. The female lead should not go back to the trashy male lead. I would prefer her to be with Jeremy....
Hey. Thank you for updating this novel here. Request you to update a big bulky lot of chapters please. It is such an interesting novel that 10 per day is simply not enough. Thanks again...
