Luke sounded a little more serious now. “Greg would rather pay the penalty than work with Sunlight Tech. He’s absolutely not going to budge.” Felicia wasn’t surprised at all. Her brother was never someone you could push around.
“But Brock’s not going to let this slide,” she said.
“Yeah, they’re really at odds right now. It’s getting tense.”
“If this drags on, the company’s going to suffer,” Felicia said quietly.
Luke nodded on the other end. “Greg’s in the middle of negotiating a huge deal with an auto manufacturer. We’re talking hundreds of millions. Wesley’s working at Greenway Electrical Services these days, so if we can land this partnership, Sunlight Tech won’t be a problem for us. Plus, our team just signed a contract with Greenway for our new game.”
Felicia could hear how hard Luke was working to help Greenway. Hearing him lay it all out, she felt a little hope stir inside. Maybe this wasn’t a dead end after all. She finally let herself breathe a little easier.
They talked for a few more minutes, then said their goodbyes. Felicia took Anne’s hand and they headed downstairs together.
On the sofa, Max was finishing up a call. He glanced up as they came down. Felicia’s blue dress flowed softly, cinched with a white belt at her waist. Her hair was pulled back in a low ponytail and she hadn’t bothered with makeup, but her fair skin seemed to glow. She watched Anne bounce down the stairs, her eyes gentle and warm. Right then, Felicia looked effortlessly beautiful.
Anne was dressed in a blue princess dress, and with both of them in blue, they almost looked like they’d planned to match.
Max ended his call. Anne ran straight into his arms.
“Daddy!” she called, giggling as he scooped her up.
“You look extra pretty today, Anne,” Max said, smiling at her.
Anne grinned, soaking up the praise. She knew she was cute and loved every second of the attention.
“What about Evelynn? Is she pretty today too?” Anne asked, looking between her parents.

The story is a drag. How can they write crap like this where the female lead is like a lapdog, and the male lead is a complete trash? They use a child to blackmail the mother into staying. The female lead should not go back to the trashy male lead. I would prefer her to be with Jeremy....
