Felicia glanced at her phone without thinking, and when she saw who was calling, her heart tightened. He picked up and said in a cold voice, “Everyone, leave.”
Felicia turned to Ava. “Come on, Ava.” They headed to the bedroom, and as they walked away, Felicia heard his voice shift, suddenly gentle as he answered the call.
On the line, a woman’s voice said, “Max, I miss you so much right now.” Ava’s face fell.
Once they were back in the bedroom, Ava shut the door and tried to keep her frustration in check. “So, he’s not letting you go stay with us.”
Felicia sat down slowly on the edge of the bed. “I doubt Marian or anyone else will try anything for now.”
“For a family with such a big name, he sure isn’t worried about having an affair while his wife is pregnant. If this got out, I don’t know how Max could even show his face.”
Felicia stopped her quickly. “Enough, Ava. I’m used to it.”
If the world found out Max was cheating, it would destroy his reputation, and that was something her family couldn’t risk.
Ava realized she’d gone too far and pulled herself together. “I’ll go get you some warm water for your feet.”
“Thanks.”
Felicia sat by the big window, watching the snow drift through the sky. She wondered if it would still be there in the morning.
A few moments later, she saw a sports car pulling out of the garage. He must be heading to see Andrea. Felicia quietly turned away from the window.

Update pls...
The story is a drag. How can they write crap like this where the female lead is like a lapdog, and the male lead is a complete trash? They use a child to blackmail the mother into staying. The female lead should not go back to the trashy male lead. I would prefer her to be with Jeremy....
Hey. Thank you for updating this novel here. Request you to update a big bulky lot of chapters please. It is such an interesting novel that 10 per day is simply not enough. Thanks again...
