The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 902

After sending the message, Danielle put her phone down and leaned back in her chair, her mind a chaotic mess. She had no idea how deep Harold and Jake's collaboration went or what they might be planning to do to Alexander.

Seeing her worried expression, Kirsten said, "Try not to worry too much. Alexander isn't so easily defeated."

Danielle nodded, picking up her fork, but she had lost her appetite.

After dinner, Danielle and Kirsten walked along the sidewalk in silence. At the corner, Kirsten stopped. "You head back to the hotel. I'll let you know the second I hear anything."

Danielle agreed, watching Kirsten's car disappear into the night before turning toward her hotel. Just as she reached the entrance, her phone rang. It was Alexander.

She paused for a second before answering, his deep voice coming through the receiver. "Are you busy? I was thinking we could get some supper."

"No, I just finished dinner with Kirsten," Danielle replied. "Is your meeting over?"

"Yeah, it just wrapped up," Alexander said, a brief pause in his voice. "I'm downstairs at your hotel. Come down when you're ready."

Danielle hung up, knowing that supper was just an excuse; he clearly wanted to talk. She walked quickly through the lobby, took the elevator to her room to freshen up, and then hurried back downstairs.

A black sedan was parked quietly under a streetlight at the hotel entrance. Alexander was leaning against it, smoking, the ember of his cigarette glowing in the darkness. When he saw her, he extinguished it and opened the passenger door. "Get in. I'll take you somewhere."
