Chapter 9
The moment I mentioned the surveillance cameras, the faces of everyone in the family changed.
Julius immediately ordered his men to retrieve the footage, and they quickly returned with the video.
When Julius watched the segment where they attempted to force their way into my room to kill me, his face turned
livid.
“I thought you were merely favoring your eldest daughter. I never thought you were so deranged that you would harbor
murderous intent toward your own youngest daughter!”
“Since this is the case, I cannot allow you to live.”
My parents‘ legs instantly gave out. They collapsed, dropping to their knees on the ground. My mother cried.
“Willow, please beg him for us! We’re your biological parents! No matter how wicked we’ve been, we raised you. If not for
praise, show us some consideration for our hard work!”
My father’s face was ashen with fear. “Yes, Willow! You can’t let your husband dispose of your own parents!”
I stood up, shaking with anger. “You dare call yourselves my parents! What kind of parents try to murder their own
child!”
“From this moment forward, I sever all ties with you. Your lives and deaths have nothing to do with me anymore!”
My father was driven mad with fury. “You ungrateful wretch! I should have strangled you the moment you were born!”
Julius instantly delivered a fierce kick, sending my father sprawling.
“You old bastard! I gave you some respect, but you still dare to shout at me here? You truly don’t know how you’re going
to die.”
My father scrambled back up and started kowtowing to Julius. “Julius, I was wrong! Please spare me!”
“You’re calling me by my name? Do you really think you’re worthy of being my father–in–law?” Julius demanded.
He ordered his men to hand him a belt and whipped my father with full force. “Is this how you hit my wife?”
My father continuously wailed and begged for mercy, but Julius did not relent.
My mother and Nina watched from the side, frozen in terror. This was the first time they truly realized that angering Julius Howard could lead to death.
My father was quickly thrashed until he lay sprawled on the ground, a broken, motionless mess.
Julius looked at my mother and Nina. “Slap yourselves until I’m satisfied.”

The two of them tremblingly raised their hands, barely putting any force into the blows.
Julius frowned. ‘Do you want me to find someone to do it for you?”
Only then did they start hitting themselves, crying and gritting their teeth. Soon, their faces were red and swollen, and
their sobs grew louder.
Enough. Julius said. The moment he called a halt, they stopped instantly.
“You two are still Willow’s parents; you gave her life, so I will spare your lives.”
My mother immediately pleaded for Nina. “Mr. Howard, please spare Nina! She was just momentarily confused!”
“You should worry about yourselves first. I only said I’d spare your lives; I didn’t say I’d let you go back home.”
Julius then issued an order to his men. “Take these two and send them to Charles in M Country. Tell him to take good
care of them.”
