Too Good for You The Ex-Wife You Lost novel Chapter 141

"Is there even a question? Of course, Quake's better." Noelle feigned modesty. "I'm just an amateur. I've never raced professionally. How could I possibly compare to Quake?"

Lola, however, smiled confidently. "Actually, I'm only an amateur racer too. My skills aren't that impressive. But if you want to race, I can play along. After all, transitioning from amateur to professional circuits isn't easy."

Beneath her mask, pride shone through.

She knew well that even if her skills weren't perfect, she was far more capable than a casual racing enthusiast since she had competed in official races.

"Ms. Lucy, racing Quake isn't something everyone gets to do! Even if you lose, you shouldn't be embarrassed about it. Just agree to it," Wilson encouraged eagerly.

He was now a full-fledged Quake fanatic. Whatever Quake wanted, he would support wholeheartedly.

Noelle suppressed a smile, keeping her expression neutral. "If everyone's so eager, I'll race Quake tomorrow.

"But there should be a wager. I can't just have Quake race me for nothing. If I lose tomorrow, I'll give Quake this bracelet," Noelle said with a smile, showing it to Lola. "It's an authentic piece by Valen Corin. You know its value, right?"

Sure enough, Lola's eyes darkened with desire. "Alright. No problem."

Then, she realized how eager and greedy she sounded. She quickly softened her tone. "Since you've made a wager, I'll offer one too."

She paused for a moment, straightened her back, and said, "Here's the deal. If you win the race tomorrow, I'll hand over one of the teams under me. It's not worth much, but since you love racing, it can at least be used for practice."

Noelle nearly laughed out loud. She thought, "Lola is broke but still pretending to be some big shot! I bet she doesn't have much to offer. Otherwise, why would she immediately think of giving up one of her own racing teams?"

Several guests had overheard their conversation. Hearing that Lola would wager a team, they were shocked.

"As expected of Quake! That's a bold move!"

"Of course. The royalties on those modified cars are probably tens of millions. Quake isn't short on money; a racing team is nothing to her."

The surrounding chatter made Lola feel elated.

Indeed, as Quake, who could surpass her now?

In the study, Hunter was being scolded by Nancy. "You are the recognized heir of the Haberkorn family. You should keep your people in line. Laura is reckless; she even learned to hire killers over a minor branch of the family. This is outrageous!"

Nancy tapped the cane on the floor angrily.

Hunter poured her tea, bowing slightly. "Grandma, though she's my mother, you've seen for years that she doesn't always listen to me."

"And what if you're the head of the family?" Her eyes were sharp. "When will you finally return to inherit the position of family head?"

Years ago, she had carefully selected potential heirs among the descendants, ultimately choosing Hunter.

Although not doted on by his parents, he was a prodigy, completing university-level courses in elementary school.

Nancy cherished and protected him with everything she had, yet no one expected that Laura, as his biological mother, would repeatedly resort to underhanded schemes against him.

In the past, it was only his business she sabotaged. Now, she was even interfering in Hunter's personal relationships.
