Too Good for You The Ex-Wife You Lost novel Chapter 170

"You don't have to know who I am. What matters is that you've lost your wife, and your mistress ran off with another man. Do you want to live like this forever?"

On the phone, the woman's voice was thick with temptation, like poison sinking into Clifford's bones.

A surge of disgust welled up in his chest. "Stop playing games! Who are you?"

The woman laughed. "I'm someone who can return your life to what it was. Don't you want your wife home by your side, managing the company, and looking after your kid? If you do, I can make it happen."

Instead of buying her words, Clifford remained wary. "What's your motive? We're strangers, so why would you go out of your way to help me?"

"I just don't like seeing another broken man," the woman replied and scoffed. "So, it's settled, Clifford. This is your last chance, and if you miss it, all that awaits you is ruin. Don't come crying in regret then."

With that, the line went dead.

Clifford was dazed, yet a flicker of hope sparked within his chest. If what the woman said was true, could he really bring Noelle back?

At Flying Speed Racing, Noelle took time to inspect the team's training. Lucas and the rest of the team were around.

The more she watched, the tighter she frowned. Standing beside her, Lucas nervously asked, "What's wrong, Ms. Quinn? They're improving a lot thanks to your previous training plan, and several racers have broken through their bottlenecks."

Despite his words, the sternness on Noelle's face remained. Her voice turned colder as she questioned, "Why haven't they corrected the issues I pointed out?"

She'd tailored the training plan to include several types of exercises meant to fix the racers' bad habits. If they stuck to it and trained hard, those bad habits would naturally be amended. But now, some still clung to the same sloppy habits and never made changes.

Sensing her anger, Lucas hurriedly explained, "Many people on our racing team aren't professional racers, Noelle. They have jobs, so training hours are limited. They just… haven't gotten around to certain exercises yet…"

Though he didn't finish, Noelle immediately understood, and her expression darkened further. He meant to say that many hadn't been following her training plan.

"She's way too arrogant. We've been training longer than before for the last few days, yet it's still not good enough for her."

Even if their current training wasn't up to standard, they were a relaxed, casual racing team before this. Daily training was just for fun, and no one took it seriously. That was until Noelle appeared and treated them like professional racers, and many couldn't keep up.

Many didn't believe that Noelle—captain of the national team—could keep a close eye on them forever.

They could just muddle through and go back to how it was before—join small races if there were any, and when there were no races, drink and flirt with ladies at the bar. That was the perfect, free life they imagined.

Lucas shook his head, looking grim. Noelle's attitude today made one thing clear—Flying Speed Racing's reform was inevitable, and those who didn't train properly would be eliminated.

"Starting today, everyone must train strictly. No exceptions and absences are allowed," he gravely announced. Noelle was so strict because she was following Ms. Lucy's orders, who was backed by the Hamiltons.

The Hamiltons were not people they could afford to cross.
