Too Late to Ask Too Late to Love (Julian and Eleanor) novel Chapter 19

Chapter 19

The next morning, as soon as she opened her eyes, the man holding her from behind tightened his

arms around her.

Morning, honey.

He woke up the moment she moved.

Whether it was late at night or carly in the morning, he always responded to her right away.

Eleanor had to admit, she was very touched by Jason’s thoughtfulness.

They had fallen in love three years ago.

His way of pursuing her was oldfashioned and unoriginal.

But his persistence for her made her see a reflection of herself in him.

That same recklessness, that same mothtoaflame attraction.

She met Jason five years ago on a flight to Provence.

She asked him about it later, and according to Jason, it was love at first sight for him.

He made no secret of being a looksist.

Eleanor didn’t call him a looksist, because she was one too.

The first time she liked Julian was simply because he was very handsome.

And then, as they spent more and more time together, she gave him her heart, but unfortunately, he didn’t want it.

Later, they had the same destination and even met at the end of the journey.

From then on, their two parallel lines began to intersect.

The two started as friends and slowly got closer.

Then came the upstartstyle pursuit, throwing money and resources at her.

But Jason grew up in the States, and Provence was his second home, yet for her, he was willing

to travel back and forth.

She knew he hated flying the most, but for her, he did it gladly

It was hard for her not to be moved.

Later, when her photography career took off, she had to go to the States to develop it.

A very dramatic scene.

They were on the same flight. When the plane reached high altitude, a wild goose got sucked into the turbine.

The plane crashed, almost plummeting straight down on its side.

But in that lifeordeath moment, Jason, who was two rows away from her, still ran over, shielded her with his body, and held her tight.

That heart of hers, which had long been silent, rekindled and started beating again.

She still remembered him saying, Don’t be afraid.

Maybe it was the screams that made her heart race, or the plane falling that sent her adrenaline soaring, but in that instant, his voice was the only thing in her world. She heard him clearly: Eleanor, I like you, ever since the first time I saw you.

A confession in a situation like that, who wouldn’t be moved?

The plane went down, but thankfully, the pilot fought hard to save it. In the end, although the plane crashed, no one died.

In the entire cabin, besides a few passengers hit by luggage, the most seriously injuredwas Jason, who had unbuckled his seatbelt to rush over and protect her.

She wanted to call him a fool, but she was also truly and deeply moved.

She took care of him in the hospital for a month.

That was also a month of real progress between them.

It was also the happiest month of Jason’s life when he looked back on it.

Eleanor took care of him attentively, and on the day he was discharged, she accepted his pursuit.

Jason seemed to be thinking about the distant past as well.

In the same position, still holding her, he turned her over so they were face to face.

The man’s face drew closer and closer, then he gave Eleanor’s lips a light, fleeting kiss.

Honey, I love you so much.

This was like a daily ritual for Jason.

But Eleanor never felt it was perfunctory.
