Even at this late hour, the highway was still bustling with cars.
Beatrice cruised with her windows down, letting the cool night breeze wash over her.
The wind carried some mysterious floral scent from who–knows–where, while streetlights stretched endlessly ahead, disappearing into the darkness.
She hadn’t lied to Damian. She really was heading to her grandmother’s place.
The video that Violet was supposed to record on her behalf? After thinking it through, Beatrice decided she needed to do it herself.
Maybe… this would be the final battle.
She could tell Desmond was exhausted, too.
With any luck, by the time she returned, he’d have sorted through his feelings, and they could finally put an end to everything.
To avoid getting screwed over by Madeline or the Fairfax family, she figured she’d bounce from Cloudia for a few days. She’d better not go toe–to–toe with a bunch of nuts.

Meanwhile, both the Belmont and Fairfax families had seen Beatrice’s counterpunch.
Their fury was so intense it could’ve burned holes through the ceiling.
They’d all forgotten one crucial detail–Beatrice had been a high–level executive at Summit Group until recently. Her access to the company’s official website backend hadn’t been revoked
yet.
Even if they had cut off her access, she still had all those loyal. subordinates back at the apartment.
Hell, Desmond might’ve even given her a backdoor himself.
Autumn kept calling Desmond over and over, but he wasn’t picking up.
William glared at her with an icy expression. “You should never have let that Fairfax vixen manipulate you. Then we wouldn’t be in this mess. Now we’ve been humiliated and the company’s taking a massive hit. How did I end up with such an idiot for a wife?”
Autumn was already feeling furious and completely trapped. She’d been getting chewed out all day, her son was treating her like his worst enemy, and now her husband was calling her
names.

Something inside her just snapped.

“Yeah, I’m an idiot. Why don’t you just replace me? Get yourself a smarter wife. Oh wait, you already have one. Kimberly Shaw’s been your little sidepiece abroad this whole time, hasn’t she?”
“Why don’t you just let that slut and that bastard of yours waltz right into the Belmont family? Let them be the new Mrs. Belmont and the Belmont heir!”
William slapped her across the face, his rage boiling over. “Who are you calling a sidepiece? Who’s a bastard?”
Autumn hadn’t expected him to actually hit her. For a moment, she just stood there in shock.
She touched her stinging cheek and let out a bitter laugh.
“I should’ve lived like Beatrice–free and wild. What did I get for turning a blind eye to your affairs for over twenty years? You were shacking up with her overseas while I sat at home alone. And now you have the nerve to call me an idiot? Well, you’re right. I am an idiot. A complete and total idiot.“.
Her voice trailed off as she headed for the stairs.
“Autumn…” William immediately regretted hitting her.
They’d kept the peace for so many years. He should have known better than to push her buttons.

The moment Autumn stepped into their bedroom, Madeline’s

call came through like the grim reaper himself was on the line.
She’d already rejected several calls from downstairs, but the woman just wouldn’t quit.
Then Autumn locked her door before answering the phone. “Instead of harassing me, why don’t you focus on handling the current disaster?!”
Madeline’s voice slithered through the phone like a ghost.
w
“What are you so scared of? Just because she debunked your evidence doesn’t mean everyone online will believe her. I have plenty of ways to mess things up. But that’s not why I’m calling. I wanted to tell you that if Desmond doesn’t agree to marry me, you’ll be the next one I destroy.”
Autumn’s hand trembled so badly she dropped her phone, collapsing to the floor alongside it.
She picked it back up, fighting to control her fear and rage. “I’ve done everything you asked! The entire Belmont family treats met like a criminal now. I’m already suffering! And you’ve seen for yourself that I have zero influence over Desmond. He doesn’t listen to a single word I say!”
“Not my problem,” Madeline shot back. “You have one week.”
With that, she hung up.
Autumn slumped on the floor, defeated. She tried to stand but slid back down.

If William ever found out about that incident, he might actually use it as an excuse to welcome that gold–digging mother and son into the Belmont family, letting them steal what belonged to Desmond.
There was no way she would let that happen!
For the next two days, the internet was on fire with the drama.
At first, almost everyone thought Beatrice’s response was so badass that it had to be legit.
But slowly, different voices started popping up in the comment sections.
An anonymous user claiming to be a Summit Group employee posted: [Beatrice is just a drama queen. She looks fake as hell in that video. Her true colors came out when she attacked that person at the airport. Don’t let her fool you.]
Then, someone else popped up claiming to be a server at that hotel.
They swore Beatrice’s video was doctored, giving all these specific details about how the hotel columns were under renovation and covered up at that time, but there was no covering in the video.
According to them, this was proof the footage had been

certificate. She was Desmond’s legitimate wife, and that was a fact nobody could deny.
Based on the evidence, Madeline wasn’t nearly as innocent as Autumn made her out to be. She had that homewrecker vibe
written all over her.
Plus, with everything blowing up like this, the fact that the husband was publicly siding with his wife against his own mother spoke volumes.
Beatrice couldn’t possibly be the total disappointment Autumn claimed her son felt she was. His tone sounded more like a guy who’d screwed up big time and knew he was in the wrong.
Of course, Madeline had her supporters too.
They argued that as a sheltered rich girl, she probably approached love more intensely and naively. Maybe she genuinely didn’t realize she was the other woman until it was too late to back out.
After all, she’d been willing to get down on her knees for love and silently take a slap to the face. Clearly, she was head–over–heels for the guy.
And another thing–if Madeline had actually hurt Autumn, why would Autumn be out there stupidly defending her? That made
zero sense.
This juicy drama kept everyone entertained for days.

Internet users were practically refreshing their feeds every five minutes, waiting for the next “episode” to drop.
But annoyingly, all the main players went completely silent. refusing to feed the gossip machine with new statements..
Killian and Gordon kept tabs on all the latest developments, secretly feeding updates to Damian.
Although Damian’s reaction stayed surprisingly chill every time, he never missed hearing a single detail.
Early in the morning. Beatrice got out of bed and stretched on the balcony, taking in the ocean view.
She hadn’t looked at a single comment for days now. Her phone was powered off and buried at the bottom of her bag.
