Trash Husband, I'm the Top novel Chapter 385

Martin let out a heavy sigh. “Hans, even if David did something wrong, you should have told us. How could you go behind our backs and let something happen to him?”

“Let’s not talk about this now—Nora’s still recovering from her injuries,” Shirley interjected gently. “Besides, Mom is right here. She’ll know how to handle things.”

Shirley’s words were soft and calming, her whole manner gentle.

Hearing his wife, Martin fell silent.

But Mary was having none of it. Her tone was sharp, her grief laced with accusation. “So you all just watched while David died, and now you’re turning your attention to cozying up to him instead. Well, let me tell you, my husband’s death is suspicious, and I deserve an explanation!”

Shirley instinctively stepped back, suddenly at a loss for words.

Mary might have looked wounded, but her voice was fierce. “Hans, I want answers from you—today.”

Pain shot through Hans’s chest; he pressed a hand to it, struggling to stay composed.

Eleanor hovered nearby, silent, not daring to interrupt.

“What sort of answer do you want?” Hans’s voice was cold as ice as he fixed Mary with a hard stare. “David kidnapped my sister and Una. Because of him, Una fell into the river and now she’s missing. Shouldn’t you be the one explaining this to me?”

Mary’s tears vanished in an instant. “Your sister? Una?”

Shirley, too, was taken aback. “Wait—did you find Aurora?”

“If David hadn’t kidnapped Aurora, none of this would’ve happened,” Hans said, the pain in his chest twisting deeper, his tone even colder. “And for the record, David fell into the water on his own. What does that have to do with me?”

“You—your sister hasn’t even been found. You’re deliberately slandering him!”

“If you don’t believe me, why don’t you go to the police and ask?” Hans shot back, his anger barely contained.

“And for your information, Aurora has already been found.”

Martin immediately asked, “Where is Aurora?”

Hans opened his mouth to answer, but when he glanced at Mary, he hesitated and fell silent.

Then a faint voice chimed in, “She’s in the third room down the hall.”

There were only four patient rooms on this floor. It wasn’t hard to find.

Hans shot Eleanor a cold look.

Eleanor shrank back, biting her lip. “Aurora will have to come home eventually. It’s only right for her to meet the family.”
