Trash Husband, I'm the Top novel Chapter 386

She had always been drawn to gentle souls.

Behind them, Mary’s voice cut through the air, sharp and sinister. “Hans claims our David kidnapped you? Tell me, how could he possibly kidnap you when he didn’t even know who you were? Are you and Hans in this together, scheming to frame David on purpose?”

Her accusation rang out, echoing in the room.

Martin frowned. “Mary, Aurora isn’t well. Keep your voice down.”

“Oh, I see how it is—now that David’s gone, you all just gang up on me. Maybe I should just go join him, then. Wouldn’t that make things easier for you?”

Sobbing, Mary lunged for the window, her intention clear—she was threatening to jump.

Martin and his wife rushed to restrain her, grabbing her arms on either side.

“Mary, that’s not what we meant.”

“Please, Mary, just calm down.”

Mary shot a furtive look at Nora. She’d assumed she could manipulate this delicate-looking young woman with ease.

Instead, she was met with Nora’s cool, unflinching gaze—so calm, so detached, she didn’t even bother to move.

For a split second, Mary felt utterly ridiculous.

She collapsed to the floor in tears. “Let me go! Let me join David! At least then I won’t have to put up with your contempt!”

But in truth, not a single person had spoken a word against her.

“You Cooper siblings conspired against our David. He died for nothing—all because of you!”

Mary’s wailing grew louder and shriller. If they hadn’t been in a private hospital suite, half the floor would have gathered to watch her spectacle by now.

But here, no one was paying her the slightest attention.

“That’s enough.” Hans’s voice rang out as he strode in, his patience finally snapping. “If you want to throw a tantrum, do it somewhere else.”

“Hans, you’re not even in charge here and you’re already telling me to leave?” Mary jabbed a finger in his face, her words turning venomous. “You and your sister are thick as thieves—killing David to steal the inheritance. You’ll pay for what you’ve done!”

Her accusations grew uglier by the second.
