Twin Cupids at Work: Daddy, Come Home! novel Chapter 129

Miles called her “Mrs. Grayson.” He was doing it on purpose.

Casey looked right at him, his stare icy and sharp. “Get lost.”

Miles kept his polite smile. “I need to take Mrs. Grayson and Noah home.” He checked his watch for emphasis. “You have two minutes. If you refuse, we’ll have to use force.”

Casey just grinned, a twisted, dangerous smile. The tension around him got even more intense. Madeline felt a sudden rush of air brush her cheek.

Before she could react, there was a loud crash. Miles, who’d been standing tall and confident, was suddenly slammed to the ground. Casey had a hand tight around his neck, holding him down.

The violence in Casey seemed to fill the whole room.

The bodyguards behind Miles looked at each other in shock. The stranger had moved so fast, they hadn’t even reached for their guns before Miles was already pinned. One squeeze, and it was over for Miles. What kind of person was this?

Guns came up on both sides. Everyone was tense, nerves stretched thin. The whole place felt ready to explode.

Madeline’s heart raced. She couldn’t let this go on. Julian’s men would step in the moment his deadline passed, and if that happened, someone would get hurt. She couldn’t let innocent people pay the price for her mistakes.

She squeezed her fists so hard her knuckles went white. She closed her eyes for a second. She knew she couldn’t beat Julian.

Just then, her phone rang. Brenda’s name flashed on the screen. Something felt wrong. Madeline answered right away, the sound of wind roaring in the background.

“Brenda? Hello?”
