Twins - The Unforeseen Legacy of My Ex's Uncle-in-Law novel Chapter 114

Drusilla carried the pajamas to the bathroom door for Enoch. After dropping them off and taking a quick glance at Enoch still showering, she decided to leave the room.

She noticed Oberon was still waiting outside on the living room couch, apparently wanting to speak with Enoch.

Upon seeing Drusilla emerge, he stood up and said, “Ma’am.”

Hmm, it ended a bit abruptly, didn’t it?

Feeling uneasy, Drusilla muttered, “I’ll be going now.”

Even though Enoch hadn’t agreed, she didn’t want to stick around any longer. That was way too awkward!

“But Mr. Taylor had requested you stay tonight…” Oberon mentioned.

Without a word, Drusilla just descended the stairs and left.

After she left, Oberon finally entered the room.

Enoch, now in his pajamas after the shower, noticed only Oberon in the room and asked, “Where is she?”

“She said she was heading back,” Oberon replied, trying to gauge his boss’ reaction.

“Should I...call her back?” he asked tentatively.

“Let it be,” Enoch responded.

Remembering how she slipped away, he decided to let her go.

He had wanted her to move over as a bit of a lesson, and now that the ‘lesson’ was imparted, Enoch found himself in a surprisingly good mood.

“Thanks for the ride,” Drusilla said as she sat in the cab and paid the driver. As she got out, her phone rang immediately after.

It was a call from Hestia, her stepmother, whose voice sounded considerate over the phone, “Darling, how have things been going with Enoch lately?”

Hearing Enoch’s name, Drusilla inadvertently flashed back to the scene in the bathroom.

She cleared her throat, trying to suppress the complex emotions swirling inside, “Pretty...pretty good!”

So what if she had kids?

What did she mean by understanding if he’s been critical?

Odette was disapproving of Enoch, while she had to be understanding if Enoch disapproved of her, huh?

Hestia’s words had already revealed how little she thought of her.

However, Drusilla didn’t bother getting angry.

How Hestia viewed her wasn’t something she was interested in understanding anymore.

She responded, “Got it! Enoch and I are doing fine. No need to worry.”

Only by reassuring Hestia would Odette finally return.

Hestia concluded, “Alright then, if things are good, maybe invite Enoch over for dinner with your dad sometime.”
