What's so good with this brat?
As Colton was about to leave, he tried to stop him, reaching out to drag him back and saying, "Come on, say it now."
But as soon as he extended his hand, Colton grabbed it and with a swift move, had him on the ground uprightly.
Cormac could only stare in disbelief.
Colton was still unbeatable! Even Talbot, who so towered over him, was taken down.
Talbot was stunned for a moment as well.
Marcella, wide-eyed with surprise, rushed over, "Talbot, honey, are you alright?"
It was only after Marcella's coaxing that Talbot realized what had happened. He had been thrown to the ground by Colton?
And then he started bawling!
Marcella turned to Colton, scolding, "How could you bully our Talbot like that, you brat? Resorting to violence, huh? Did you learn that from your mother? I heard rumors about her getting into fights, and now you too?"
Colton just snorted at the woman as he stared at her. He hadn't actually expected to take Talbot down so easily. Talbot had bragged about his strength, so Colton used a bit more force than usual.
Who knew it would be this easy to floor him?
Drusilla, witnessing the scene, said, "Colton, apologize. You can't just hit people. I didn't enroll you in karate classes for you to bully others."
Cormac stepped in, "Mom, it's not like that. Talbot threw the first punch, but Colton just defended himself by hitting him."
Cormac was articulate. His ability to express himself on par with adults. He read a lot, which made him particularly good at conveying his thoughts.
Verena also admired that about him.
Verena asked further, "And why did it come to blows?"
"Talbot claimed he was the boss, said he was unbeatable in fights, and demanded Colton to call him boss. Colton refused, so Talbot went to hit Colton! Then Colton fought back..."
Cormac recounted without missing a beat.
Verena turned to Marcella, "Got that? It's your son's fault and you didn’t teach your son properly. What, aiming to be the boss so young? Does he qualify? Just because he's tall means can bully the smaller ones? I bet he's the same in preschool, right? Too bad, he picked the wrong fight! Our Colton could take on ten bozos like him."
Verena's ability to argue was indeed formidable!
