Twins - The Unforeseen Legacy of My Ex's Uncle-in-Law novel Chapter 172

Enoch said, "I heard girls are into this kind of stuff."

Drusilla was momentarily taken aback by his comment about 'girls,' considering she was a mother of two. How could he still see her as a girl?

Ridiculous, right?

Yet, more than finding it laughable, she was surprised and touched deep down.

She looked at Enoch and asked, "Did you do all this for me?"

Enoch replied, "It's no big deal, really. As long as you're happy. I don't want to see my lady feeling down!"

Drusilla stared at the man in the wheelchair, feeling a bit dazed.

Just moments ago, she'd been preoccupied with thoughts of Colton and Cormac, and now, seeing Enoch go to all this trouble for her... she felt unexpectedly cherished.

Ever since she became a mother, her life had revolved entirely around her children. She'd never pampered herself or allowed herself any indulgences.

She thought she'd grown up.

But in this moment, in front of him, she felt as though she had reverted to being that cherished child once again.

Drusilla looked down at her own shadow.

Enoch reached out his hand and said, "Drusilla."

She looked at him, his fingers long and clean, extending towards her.

Seeing her reluctance, Enoch moved his wheelchair closer and took her hand.

His palm was warm. Drusilla looked at Enoch and asked, "We're in a sham marriage, so why are you doing all this?"

Enoch said, "What does it matter if it's a sham? We're living in the moment, and every minute, every second is real and irreversible. Don't keep such a stern face, alright?"

Colton ran up and hugged her just like he always did when she came home. Having thought about his mom all day, seeing her now made him incredibly happy.

The moment Colton hugged her, Drusilla felt as if the heavy burden she'd been carrying all day was finally lifted.

Colton whispered, "Mom, I missed you."

Drusilla, who had been worried sick all day, nearly burst into tears at her son's embrace. She crouched down to look at Colton and Cormac. "Have you two been crying?"

Their tears had distracted her till now.

Cormac said, "They wouldn't let us see you. Mom, are you going to leave us?"

"What are you talking about?" Drusilla replied. "Why would I ever leave you?"

Cormac asked, "Can we go home now?"
